Stop trying to force us to play Tryhards of Osiris
First the Moments of Triumph, and now the Solstice armor? At least you don't have to do that one Triumph for MMXX, but regardless...
Guys. Just. Stop. There's a reason people don't touch that place. Keep the Trials stuff tied to the Trials badge; but, stop trying to force players to play a game mode that was meant to be for Sir Sweatsalot and the Basement Brigade. It isn't fun -especially when over half the population are cheaters just trying to out-cheat each other.
Update 17 AUG: so, now that the first weekend has finished, I can't help but notice a LOT more posts regarding Trials as a requirement (and none of them are positive) Bungie: [b]listen to your actual playerbase, rather than the 5% and the streamers![/b]

So, how'd this first weekend go, for everyone? .... welp, that doesn't surprise me.

Because trials is literally their pvp lifeline and they know it's a dieing playlist filled with mostly cheaters and streamers and the occasional try hard team. No one wants to play it for those 3 reasons especially for mediocore stuff that's going to be sunsetted in a couple of seasons that are Reskins of d1 gear. Took a year to make it right my arse.

I guarantee you they will change it to win any crucible match 7 times. Or maybe up the number of wins you need. Remember the 100 mini bosses you needed. They changed that after a lot of complaining. And this trials thing is worse.

I am not a trials player and so regret I will not have the ability to “prestige” my armor this year. I am lucky in that I can spend what I like at Eververse. Obviously there is little point purchasing the Solstice armor upgrades due to the trials requirement. To be frank the trial restriction takes the gloss off Solstice for me and my non-trials friends.

20 RepliesBungie at this point should realize there are a 3 distinctive kinds of players. 1. Explorers who do the planet quests and strikes 2. Raiders who do the dungeons 3. Full time Pvp'ers Quests should have paths for all three types of players to complete

All the activities in the TWAB have low participation now, as one can see from the steep decline in LFG posts for them. Bungie is trying to restore the activity levels, but it is unlikely to influence gamers.

They’re trying to influx the playerbase so they have an excuse to keep the playlist.

It hasn't been balanced since the dawn of the franchise, it has drastically gotten worse (Thanks solar rework >_>) and when this game went free to play, we all knew it was going to happen, hackers and those pay to carry people ran rampant through the PVP environment. With the lack of control within the pvp area Bungie needs to step up and implement harsher punishments/restrictions on those who have been caught. Take a look at the Valorant punishment system, it is a hardware ban, you cheat and are caught, your computer hardware is matched and then banned from playing.. no matter how many accounts you make. I was super excited about the legendary armor set/white glow and after seeing *7 Trial wins* I highly doubt I will be making any effort to obtain the armor. I want to enjoy PVP again, I just dont think it will ever be in this game.

2 RepliesI'm looking forward to not playing Trials, and as it's required for the Leg armour I don't care. I use Orpheus Rigs 9 times out of 10, and normally use Lunafaction Boots/Transversive Steps on my Warlock, so I really couldn't give a f*ck. 🤣

Luke Smith coming out and saying the last season was light on content because they were adding Trials back in soured the entire thing right away. Knowing those that paid for the season were given less to pay the bill for the f2p people at the same time opening the flood gates for cheaters and hacks really pisses me off. Time after time they show they care more about potential new money than people who are and continue to pay. Bungie has failed the players. Anti cheats need to be put in place asap, noting shorting players on seasonal content to give f2p players content needs to happen.

Each armor piece should have 2 different paths of player choice. PVE or PVP to appease all types of players. Neither should be a forced path.

I just skip the event and do something else, to say I have tones of movies to watch and shows to catch up on.

And its not like I care about destiny pvp and fixin trials in paticular. I could play regular crucible or whatever for that armor but dont force AFFFIN TRIALS OF FOCKING CHEATERS.

agree completely bungie sees trials participation is dropping massively so they tie some of the coolest looking gear ornaments into jumping in and being cannon fodder for trials. Grinding out losses forever until you finally get 7 wins by random run ins with other cannon fodder. bungie and the blunt force design

1 ReplyBungie has always maintained that trials was not meant for every guardian.. so then why try to force players into a game mode that is absolutely full of toxicity. From Cheaters, paid carries and paid recovs to the elites who love to stomp anything that resembles a guardian.. its not for everyone, its broken and Bungie won't admit it, won't discuss it but, will try to force players into it to pad numbers. If we have to do pvp, quickplay, comp, elimination, rumble, there are other choices that would at least allow for.. wait for it.. sit down.. imagine it.... FUN. Trials is not fun for most players. The reward system is broken. Forcing players to play it when its broken is not right Bungie.

And cheating aside - I don’t know how big a deal that’s on Xbox anyway - but carries or even paid carries are a real thing and you run into these teams where the bottom two get 2-3 kills and the top guy has like 25. It’s just not fair and it’s annoying as hell. Don’t think I can be bothered to enter it again after getting my seven wins for the triumph. Weapons are not great either but it still suxx if they now tie that to cool armor that people want to have. Hadn’t heard about that. Edit: About the carries bc it really annoys me right now: That is even encouraged by the community and people like dmg. I get so many liked messages in my Twitter feed of these morons posting “DiD mY fIrSt cArRy” or “CarRiEd 10 pEoPle to fLaWlesS tOdaY” and bs like that and everybody likes and endorses it when it’s just the most antisocial game-killing behaviour that shuts people out who don’t wanna pay other people for an achievement that they only have to pay for BECAUSE of those people in the first place.

Which isn't all that great when the mindsets and "potential attitudes" of players are somewhat related to the game modes one chooses to play. It all boils down to Competitive vs Co-operative. Players are already divided with this concept, rather than brought together. Then you have whatever sub-categories (think of the playlists in PvP, or the different PvE "modes/features") further filtering players into more "groups" of some sort (think of how this can affect matchmaking). Some may only stick to just one or two "modes", based on whatever limitations that player feels exists. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of arguments for both sides, and they are both compelling in their own ways. But that's only if you consider the above concept of "player mindset" vs "player division". It all a shame though, considering the work that goes into the game as a whole, because at some point, it'll never be enough.
