New date for Beyond Light. Now we have time for changes?

With a change in the date for Beyond Light I thought I'd throw out the changes that I hope come to Destiny 2. Mainly in the Crucible, since that is what I mostly do. First, Iron Banner. Mainly I want Iron Banner to get treated more like the end game-ish activity that it was in original Destiny. Which means not just four pinnacle drop bounties and a quest for one or two new guns every once in-awhile. lol. First on the list... Iron Banner needs masterwork materials. Bounties or even after match drops should exist for Iron Banner that give prisms and even a couple of shards. Us die-hard Iron Banner buffs deserve to be able to max out our characters playing the game mode we love. Especially since in original Destiny we used to be able to max out our characters playing nothing but Iron Banner. So we should be able to max out our characters in something other than going Flawless in Trials, (Which I will never be able to do. Never did it in original Destiny, so I definitely have no chance in our current version of Trials in Destiny 2.) or somehow getting to max power and beating the ridiculously hard Grandmaster Nightfall. (Which; again, I will probably never be able to do... Or even Want to do. Since I am a Crucible player 95% of the time.) Finally Iron Banner needs to have all of it's loot refreshed More Than Once A Year. At least twice a year. If not about 3 times a year. Which would probably be the best choice. Second, Matchmaking. So yeah on this I originally took the whole, "SBMM! Bring it back and get rid of dumb CBMM!" stance because I felt we needed to protect the low skilled players and new players. But lately I have decided it would be Bettter if we had a good balance of choices in our playlists. CBMM has it's upsides (And downsides. Still going to make sure everyone knows that it does have downsides. lol.) and it can be good as a change of pace depending on where it is implemented. That's why another player's post that was sent to me in a comment got my attention and I decided that he probably was on to something. So yeah I think we should balance out the playlists and give all kinds of players chances to have fun AND to get better if they choose to do so. Here is the list. Iron Banner = SBMM. Why? Because it shouldn't be treated as a stomping ground for noobs to be farmed. A six-stack half Flawless team has no business being matched against a team of solo noobs with maybe one or two decent players on their side. And maybe one or two fireteams of two on their side, possibly. I think SBMM would keep this mode from just being dominated by Mercy ruled experiences and that is a good thing. Iron Banner can't become the end game-ish experience that I feel it deserves to be if it is just chaos and nonsense for most players. Trials = No change. Except loot improvements and getting rid of cheaters of course. Control = SBMM. Why? Because it is a game mode involving an objective and it is the most played playlist where low skilled players and new players tend to flock. No reason for them to be forced into getting stomped all the time by Flawless and Unbroken players. They need a place to go to have fun at their own pace in 6 vs. 6. Besides... The next playlists is where we add some variety to the Crucible. Clash = CBMM. Note: I believe we need Clash/Team Deathmatch/Team Slayer to be A PERMANENT GAME MODE. It's a permanent game mode in almost every other FPS under a different name so I believe we need it back. Why? It would be the perfect change of pace choice that could sit right beside Control on the destination page. It has a simple goal for all players on both teams with no objective so it would make for the perfect 6 vs. 6 playlist for CBMM. Survival = SBMM. Why? Because it's for Glory, old pinnacle weapons, and a title. Wins and losses matter. Being matched against similar skilled players makes sense. And as you get better and progress... Obviously your opposition should as well. Elimination = CBMM. Why? It's mainly because Trials players are likely to use Elimination as practice. So it makes sense to throw everyone together for said practicing. Rumble = CBMM. (Probably.) Why? Even though I'm on the fence about this one it can be a good playlist to improve individual skill. Since you have no one but yourself looking out for you. Low skilled players and new players could in theory try to use this list to improve. Rotating playlists = SBMM. (Preferred) CBMM. (If needed.) Why? Because these playlists aren't super popular game modes numbers wise so SBMM could be used as a change of pace kind of thing. And it would make sense in the heavily objective based rotating modes. I put CBMM as "if needed" for the fact that sometimes; if not very many players are playing in the current playlist, the matchmaking could switch to CBMM as a backup to make sure a game can be found. Classic Mix = None. What do I mean by that? I mean Classic Mix is basically useless at this point. It was our original "You want CBMM? Then go here." playlist. Which is amazingly redundant at this point. It just needs to be deleted completely and any maps in this playlist that we can't find anywhere else should just be moved to other playlist. But yes... These are my top Crucible ideas that I Hope get noticed by Bungie and possibly get worked on before Beyond Light. Since we are going to be waiting for quite a while. Thanks to anyone who reads this and God Bless. Rigel p.s. I actually only play two of those modes with any regularity, well actually it will be 3 now since they removed SBMM from Iron Banner. I think as far as Control and Clash if one of them had to be SBMM it should be Clash. The problem a lot of people have is that they don't know what SBMM actually entails. It does more than just match by skill, it also uses catchup mechanics/damage referee more heavily so that could be problematic for Control because it just straight up sucks when you want to capture a zone but the game has decided that its not going to let you kill someone because its trying to keep the score close. Clash and Supremacy, even with CBMM, seem to use shot-registration based catchup mechanics much more heavily than control so if one of them had to be SBMM it should be Clash. I agree with you that its probably time to put Classic Mix/Quickplay out to pasture though. Supremacy can go in the rotator. But that's if it had to be one or the other. I would rather they banish SBMM totally and come up with an all new system where how much you win was based more on how good you were and then give some type of rating that is connected to but not totally based off of your top-secret, always going to be hidden, don't bother asking cause their not going to tell you, skill rating that the game already calculates for everyone. This way, even if you aren't the best you have something to play for and something you can compare to other players. I was thinking something with both tiers that are more (but not totally) static and a more fluid rating that moves within those tiers for people who like to watch numbers go up and down in real time while they play. As far as Trials, its fine as is and as far as Comp... I'm going to pass on talking about Comp because I'm mad at that playlist atm. Me and Comp are currently seeing other people.
