false burnout is not the players fault. burnout occurs when a person does the same thing every day and gets the same outcome. there are hundreds of games that can be played every day for hours and not have player burn out. A great example of this is ff15 or MHW. the end game content and the world itself is so massive that very rarely do players actually get worn out. When a developer creates an open world game where the majority of the game is end game content its the developers responsibility to deliver fresh content. destiny 1 did this with a great system for weapons and armor, where the player actually had to level it up. this created a tangible reason to actually grind. it was forgivable to have a bad drop in a strike since you had gear that got better. personally I could play destiny 1 for days at a time because I would get, for lack of a better word, lost in the game play. destiny 2 however is just a very blatant cash register with very little though put into the end game and more thought in how to build paywalls.
Burnout is still the players fault. If you choose to do the same thing over and over, thats on you. Is it designed correctly for enjoyment? No. Stop playing. People forget to respond with their wallets. Instead of burning out go play other games.
I started playing World War Z with my friends and its been a blast. For a short term grind I might hop back into warframe, or continue playing Children or Morta which I have found to be fun.
Burnout? Whether its done by design or not, the act or burning out is the players fault for being an idiot.
I definitely agree that people forget to speak with their wallet, And since Destiny 2 has a sever lack of quality in many areas I'll be done playing after this season/ whenever I'm able to go back to work. the sad thing about it is exactly what you said, its not designed for enjoyment. I mean its a video game that isn't built to be enjoyable. That's crazy to me.
