After a long hiatus, I redownloaded Destiny 2 only to find there are things called Umbral Engrams now which can only be decrypted by a machine near the Drifter. There is a glitch or something (caused by not playing during whichever season you build said machine I'm assuming) that shows your inventory as empty no matter what when you interface with the machine. This is a waste of my time if I can't even do anything with the Engrams I earned and I looked it up, it's not just me, quite a few people have had similar circumstances. Please patch this or tell me what I'm doing wrong if it's user error.
