No SBMM and the disabled community

The primary reason my family and I play is non-competitive Crucible modes. We could always hop on for a few quick games and it was fun because the matches were usually even, so we all felt like we were actually contributing to the team effort - win or lose. My family is casual, they mainly play Destiny 2 to spend time with me because I can't do much with my disease. So we're all pretty low on the skill ladder. Often if I complain about lack of SBMM and getting stomped on and not having fun - I'm told by the community that the answer is to "get good", which will happen by playing against the top players. The problem is that I have an autoimmune disease that has caused extensive peripheral and central nervous system damage. My reaction time is slow and my hands shake. It doesn't matter how much time I spend practicing I'm never going to "get good". Removing skill based matchmaking has absolutely ruined the Destiny experience for us. It is a truly awful change that caters to the minority elite players and leaves the disabled, casual, or any below average player behind to get pounded into the dirt or search for another game where we can actually participate and have some fun.

  • SBMM is for the bottom 1%. CBMM however benefits everyone else. Hence why this iron banner is so popular. And hence why they changed it to CBMM.

  • No the problem is the people who say crap like "get good" by playing top players are the very people who are already in that 5% of players and don't want to play each other because they don't want a challenge. They also have never actually competed outside of a video game and don't know the difference between being out played and out classed you'll never no matter how much you train, no matter how much you practice will ever be able to constantly beat someone who out classes you, that's the lie they tell themselves to feel better about themselves "if I just practice, if I just have this weapon, that God roll" but it's crap I've been doing jujutsu/Judo for 30yrs I've practices hundreds of thousands of hours and so still could on my best day hope to beat an Olympian Judoka outside of a fluke moment it's the same thing with these clowns, they lie to themselves and say dumb childish things like "get gud" or "sorry you want things handed to you" when that's exactly what they want, they want to pup stomp and not have to actually try so of course they love CBMM instead of skill based, skill based requires the to actually try against opponent their own level oh and god forbid they lose a dual to someone that may be a little laggy their fragile little ego's can't take it someone got one over on them so everyone else has to suffer. They need to stop lying to themselves and projecting what they want on to everyone else. They don't care as long as they get the dopamine hit from PVP.

  • In my Opinion we should Boycott all 6v6 playlist including Iron banner. If you want your pinnacle play elimination or comp they are SBMM. If enough of us quit playing, Bungie will take notice, and maybe make a change. What we need is a choice of either SBMM or CBMM. If you want SBMM back boycott crucible. Tell your friends to spead the word.

    • But it doesn't cater to the minority. It caters to the majority. The below average playerbase is the minority compared to the average and above. Even many below average players are enjoying it. This is by far the best system that caters to the majority.

      • CBMM caters the average player as well, it only hurts the below average player
