People get banned all the time. My favorite thing is finding people on the #help section of the forums saying they got banned for "no reason". There's nowhere near a solid anticheat but people do get banned. Also if someone gets reported enough their case will be evaluated. Not much you can do either when you have a free game on PC

  • “Not much you can do with a free game on PC” Valve with CSGO called, they make constant updates to improving the anticheat and minimizing the negative impacts on players who encounter cheaters. In that game if you match a cheater and they are convicted you get the skill group points that you lost returned to you. Players can sign up to participate in a program where they review demos from potential cheaters and judge whether or not they are cheating. There is a trust factor system and a way to pay to participate in matchmaking with only other people who have also paid. The anticheat doesn’t allow you to run the game with anything running in the background that interacts with it without a verified developer signature. Theres more but that’s just the basics. There is plenty you can do to prevent cheaters in a F2P game.

  • When I played CS I ran into someone cheating almost every other game. And have you seen what happened recently with another one of Valve's titles? TF2 was overran by cheaters. Anything from wallhacks and aimbot to crashing servers

  • The true cheaters would not even post in this forum, you don't need a Bungie dot net account to play the game.

  • Its the not so bright ones who do it on their main account then regret it. They're a good read, comments are good too 👍
