Character & gear taking too long to load
I’m unable to switch weapons in between deaths, or even fast enough to make it count while on strikes/etc.

PS4 screens are the same way. Takes like 5 minutes of black screen every time there's a black screen, can't switch weapons without at least 1 death. Ship or sparrow changes don't register for 20 minutes, etc. Every update it somehow gets worse, and yes, it's bungles ancient systems, not yours. Connection issues not a problem ever on any other game, just good ol bungled games where the logic is nonexistent. -

Got an ssd on xbox and it definitely sped things up but the menu is still sluggish.

1 ReplyWhich Xbox console you run on? I run Xbox 1s with a USB 3.1 SSD drive that Destiny 2 is installed on. Speeds up the game by a lot. Yes there are slow parts in the user interface for weapon mods and some other screens. But way better then Native Hardware on Xbox1. It also sped up Destiny 1 LOL.

Easy fix from development side: save loadout localy on client side but save a checksum on server side. if user opens menu check checksum. if equal load from device (ps4, xbox,....). also enable just indexing. so that you can select stuff even if images arent loaded yet the checksum stuff is just in case people would find some exploits to bamboozle the destiny server because their shit is saved localy.

1 ReplyIt's seems to me like the outdated engine cannot cope anymore. Last night for example: 22:46:42.........pressed x to play destiny 22:50:05.........Choose character 22:51:30.........Weasel error 22:54:43.........choose character (again) 22:55:17.........ORBIT!!! 8 minutes 5 seconds just to load in. This is not a one off that's why I used a stop watch. I've also noticed that when playing with my US clanmates, even though we fly in together, they can sometimes have cleared the first room in a strike before I've even landed. Imagine the impact this kind of lag has in crucible. I also have the same issues previously mentioned regarding weapon/armour changes

1 Replythis has always been an Issue on consoles, especially on the old gen, in D1 you would die just by trying to pop a Heavy Synth in the middle of a fight, its crazy how this is still a problem even on Ps4 & Xb1 Hopefully this wint be a problem on Next gen consoles, since it's been stated many times in the last few months, that Loading Screens will be almost nonexistent in Ps5 & XBSX 🤞

Yep, it’s chronic. It takes so long switching weapons that I imagine the strike will have finished before I do it.

Always been a problem on consoles but a ssd speeds it up ~50%.

I see people saying I upgraded my console sometimes, but I can't help but think the day I have to upgrade any console is the day that gaming company needs to quite creating games because they literally do not know what they're doing. In 35 years I have never played any game that has as many issues as this game does because of their bad coding.

Yeah thats more hard wear issues than game. play any looter on console that is over 100 gigs. they all have load issues.
