Just a few minutes after logging in for the new season, without having played a single game of anything yet, I got a PVP restriction for "consistently bad internet connection". I find this very weird seeing how in the past week my internet was actually behaving better than usual and I there were no disconnection from matches that I remember. Following the idea that it was a mistake I filed a ticket but when I asked in my clan they linked me to a few other forum posts about people also being restricted for connection issues out of nowhere at the beginning of the season. So my question is this, is it possible bungie's auto-ban system glitched out when the servers were at max capacity and restricted a bunch of people by mistake?

1 ReplyFact... Bungie issues most restrictions in batches. Fact.. you knew you had internet issues but kept on playing. Fact... to get a restriction you ignored your first warning. You do not need to disconnect to have issues. Most of these cases are due to you lagging in matches. This ruined matches for other players who reported you. These reports flagged your account for investigation and Bungie found reason to issue another warning this time with a restriction. So wait out your restriction and use this time to sort out your internet mainly the causes of lag which is playing with below recommended internet speeds or with high signal latency/ping. Note.... the 1st restriction is 2 weeks, 2nd 2 months and the 3rd is permanent.
