Can you explain where on earth they said weapons will drop with fixed rolls?

From this weeks TWaB. (In the segments about the world loot drop, right before the weapons that will be included. “Starting in Season 11, it will be curated both for relevance and overall size, to strike a balance between number of rewards and the chance to get a sought-after drop. “ Perhaps I’ve misconstrued it. Very probably given that it doesn’t seem to be a talking point anywhere on these forums or on reddit. But curated in this game has always meant a specific fixed roll. Unless Bungie have gone and given “curated” a different context that I haven’t heard about, then I can’t fathom what else they’d mean. In other words, to me, that says that every gun in the world loot pool will be curated, ie. fixed roll. Edit: for the record, I’d be really happy to be wrong in this case and I’d love if somebody could correct me.

"Curated" means selected and organized. What you're talking about is curated rolls, meaning perk rolls that were selected by Bungie. They were saying a curated loot pool, meaning they selected and organized specific weapons to drop from the world loot pool. This does not imply fixed perk rolls.

Genuinely hope you’re right. Just was a strange way say it, given that any loot pool is by definition curated, in that the items in it are deliberately chosen to be in it.

Bit shit though. Dunno, to me it sounds like the complete the opposite of what the game needs; this will surely be the final nail in the coffin of the core elements of the game which have been left to fester and stagnate since forsaken launched; namely playlist strikes and gambit. Reckoning to a lesser extent but that was close to DOA anyway. It basically just sounds like a really sterile and stagnant loot pool. I would’ve thought that adding some spice and uniqueness to each activities loot pool would be the way to go. Weapons like hopscotch pilgrim, eyasluna and the like kept every core activity alive in the twilight years of D1.

Reading tweets by dmg he confirmed what this guy said. The guy posted here after getting dmgs replies. Basically you'll get 2 engrams, a world loot pool engram, and a redacted engram. Redacted engram contains seasonal stuff, like sundial guns etc. Open world engram will drop like a normal engram, but will also come from vendors via tokens. Vendors will no longer have weapons or armour, they're basically just token dumps. Notice 2 gambit, strike, PvP guns in the loot pool? Anything else in the current pool of vendors is going away. Dmg confirmed get them now before they go for good.

So in that case there’s no more random rolls?

Random rolls come from the engrams, boty open world + redacted, but those are the only guns you can get other than raids, nightfalls. We think there's no armour in the engrams anymore, just those guns. Anything currently at vendors, like bygones, has to be gotten before June 9th.

Curated means organized specificaly. In this case, it means removing armour from the pool, and having select guns only, so 30 guns. There was 8 armour sets in the pool this season, meaning finding a gun roll was impossible. It's been confirmed by Cozmo, and dmg. Open world engram comes from open world drops, old activities (like menagerie, escalation etc), and from vendors via tokens or packages. Zavala, Shaxx and drifter will only reward year 1 armour, the new universal armour which is 1 set for year 4 only, and guns from this open world shared engram pool. Each mode will have an ornament set to be earned by playing the activity. It's been done so you can play anything and get the same reward. So you don't feel like you're missing out if you want bygones but hate gambit for example. The BIG issue is all 30 guns are 3yrs old which we've all had 500 times before, and bring nothing new to us. Making them irrelevant for anyone but new players. The redacted engram will reward seasonal loot, like sundial during the season it was relevant. Going forward, these guns from this engram will replace the soon to be sunset guns in the open world pool. This has me very worried that the fall expansion will bring yet another hollow experience with a very shallow loot pool
