I haven’t participated, but looking over the rules the only thing that strikes me as odd is the challenger deciding the battle format.
Wouldn’t that, to some extent, skew the battle into the challenger’s favor? Like they could choose whatever battle format their character works best in, while the challenged just kinda has to deal with it, even if they’re put at an incredible disadvantage.
But, that’s just from a quick glance at the rules; I have 0 experience with the dojo itself, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I can see that, the only reason I proposed that is because then it would be easier to find matches for people. If the person who is looking for challengers chooses, it could be harder to find people to fight because some wouldn’t want to battle in that specific way. But I see how it could be unfair, I might change it to it has to be mutual consent. Which so far it has, people have been really polite.

Yeah, I don’t see Offtopic going Batman on us, and studying up our characters to learn their weaknesses, and exploit them, but it is—in theory—completely possible. Like, for instance, Xi can’t heal. He’s a robot, so he needs to be repaired, and so things like healing potions are completely useless. So, if someone knows this, they could easily build a very high-damage, heal-centric combat system, and challenge Xi with that. Anything using dice can easily be forged, too, so without a third party rolling it’s hard to judge those results.
