Ever since the newest patch came out, performance on PC for me has been terrible. I used to average in the 90-100fps range. Now I’m hitting 35fps in the tower and 40-50fps on the moon (it went up to 80 in the bunker).
Did something get screwy with the latest patch?

Yesterday I had huge problems with games I never had any issues with before, I was getting hardware failure messages left and right, unable to play anything. Turns out it was the latest drivers from nvidia, I rolled back to the previous one, problems solved.

I had a similar problem, felt like I was playing on console or something. Then I realized Folding@Home was hogging my CPU and GPU (somehow idle detection failed to work,) leaving scrapes for Destiny 2. Just saying, could be something obvious. Also, check your in-game video settings. Maybe nVidia virtual resolution is on and you're playing 4K on a 1080p screen? Happened to me once after a driver update. Others have already pointed out the easiest and most likely solution. Just throwing some corner cases out there.

Cap your frame rate I was having this problem too capped my frame rate to 200 and fixed the issue for me

Oh no, what a disaster now you can't play literally at all!!! What a tragedy! 😂😂😂😂

No idea what your set up is doing but I'm on a i5-8400 gtx1080 16gb ram and a 960 evo m.2 and I'm seeing 130-150fps all day.

Turn fps cap on then save then fps cap off and save.

I can confirm huge fps drops and fluctuations but in the Tower ONLY! FPS is like 60-55-56-54-58-60-60-53-55-57-60-57 ect. VSYNC 60 on, if VSYNC off fps floating between 80-100. This has not happened before. But on planets gameplay is super smooth no lags at all, constant 60fps. My PC E5-1680v2@4.5, 16GB RAM, 1080ti drv431.60, fast SSD 2GB/s win 7 x64.

Weird. I played last night. I was hitting 189fps consistantly.

Edited by zJDz: 3/26/2020 2:58:13 AMHad the same problem. It was a destiny video setting. I had frame rate cap on and max frames at 240 yet it was doing like 30 FPS. I switched the frame rate cap to off and that fixed it.
