Sidearms are ridiculously op at the moment Especially the triple burst versions Yes, a Sidearm should have good impact & great handling (so maybe buff these) to help combat Shitguns/Handcannons/SMG etc But they really need a huge range nerf & a slight RoF nerf (They should never be firing across distances at Scout/Pulse Range) or out firing a fast Pulse/SMG/Auto Rifle But be used in the CQB/Short ranges & be really handy in tight locations, tunnels/caves etc with enough flinch at close range to persuade a shitgunner/SMG wielding opponent to back up & re-evaluate! Edited to change ‘map’ for the more suitable ‘distances’

  • Just because a primary is able to outgun a special weapon doesn't make it OP. I honestly just wish special ammo wasn't in the game somedays. It's so mind numbing watching people get rug burn because they are constantly sliding around the map with their shotgun out at all times.

    And your point is? Whoever mentioned Primary & Special slots? Sidearms go into both! I’ve no problem with them competing at close quarters to combat the ape’ing shitgunners/SMG crew (shitguns should have massive impact but only at closer range, & SMG’s have the superior RoF to compete) Sidearms should have a little more range than both & flinch more than either, to put the opponents off their aim But they should also have greater damage falloff past a certain distance ...not be competing with Auto Rifles, Scouts & Pulse (for instance the Last Hope has stupidly good stability & with range way past it’s supposed stats)

  • Some could use a minor range nerf but honestly that’s if u get a god roll other then that the ranges are pretty short and are maybe at best 15 meters.

  • Dude, people use sidearms a lot. Devil's ruin, anonymous autumn, Drang (baroque), translation theory, Buzzard, lonesome, Rat King, and the future war cult one that got added to the loot pool. These are everywhere on console and they almost over perform. Smg's are useless now because sidearms have a faster ttk that is easier to hit because of the stability of the single fire frames. If anything you should be asking for more stability on smg's so they can perform even when sidearms are present.

  • I would not say they are over preforming. Sidearms are just like bows, they are fully balanced. If bungie touched em theyd fall apart. However you make a good point, SMGs need some sort of change. They need to compete with Sidearms and shottys.
