I’ve felt this since forsaken, I left for a few months and came back still feeling this.
We’ve gotten to a point to where light cap hurts finding loot.
First it was the fact of the light cap taking the value of finding a powerful legendary to increase your light.
Then it was to make them so easy to find like the game spoon feeding you legendaries.
Then it was making the fact that you found a legendary engram doesn’t matter unless it’s a prime engram.😡
Now it’s gotten to the point that prime engrams are only useful to a point and pinnacle activities rewarding you.
Back in d1 before the taken king. Basically vanilla destiny.
The grind for legendaries were already so rare, even exotics.
Which created this sense of wow factor when you found a ghallarhorn or playing in crucible and got that last word.
Even legendaries like sword breaker, black hammer, and fate bringer.
Those were pinnacle weapons found in pinnacle activities.
Now you might be asking the crucible shouldn’t be considered a pinnacle activity.
I would disagree with you there.
I think both strikes and crucible should be treated as such.
Back in d1 what make strikes worth chasing towards were it’s strike exclusives, it’s exotic bounties from Zavala. Weapon quests like the dark drinker.
I also believe that you could maybe add a ranking system for grinding out strikes (yes I know there already is)
I think that could be better expanded on.
Now crucible needs a pinnacle activity(which your already on by reintroducing trials so 👍)
But you should have have strictly crucible legendary and exotic quests.
(Which I know you have a few of those)
But I needs to be expanded on, because most legendary and exotic quests take a drive into all of gambit, patrol, crucible, then some strikes.
Which is annoying.
Now there needs to be a balance between the loot pool being all about quests and actually going to grind specific activities for loot.
Because there is drastically less of that wow factor of when you’d getting that ghallarhorn anymore.
That’s kinda the same problem I had with the ghallarhorn quest in rise of iron.
I get that you didn’t want to make another divide of people who didn’t have it can’t participate with us.
That’s why you try and bring up other weapons up to it.
Or make encounters that don’t all require a rocket launcher.
Get creative.
I have want finding legendaries to feel special again, because I’m sure it’s not just me but others are having this loot fatigue.
Please bungie I hope you respond to this and well as maybe respond with your thoughts?
