So unless your school does things differently than every school I know of, they basically just extend the school year for each snow day, meaning it cuts into your summer vacation.

We always had pre-planned snow makeup days. If it snowed, we went to school on those days. If I didn't, we had them off.

It’s different. Most schools around where I live have to have 5-7 days to start adding days to the school year.
