I know Bungie really want to move to a seasonal model, and although I wish they didn't as I've already missed some content that I will never have the opportunity to experience, I know I can't change their minds.
This is most likely a solution to the fact that the game file is huge already and they don't want to bloat it any more (personally I would buy a dedicated drive for this game alone if file size is the problem), but this isn't a viable solution for many users, especially console players.
I really enjoy the Sundial, I know a lot of users have grown bored of it, that it's gone stale, but it's a menagerie-esque event that I love using to kill time when I've run out of things to do.
So if they were to keep something around from this season, I'd love it to be this.

Already bored of it
-
Honestly, I'm fine with the Sundial leaving. I do miss the Vex Offensive though.
-
The season will probably end with the self destruction of the sundial. Similar activity next season.
-
No thank you. Next
-
Sundial is designed to be temporary, it's fun for a few runs but is kinda boring, especially when compared with things like the menagerie.
-
For me, Sundial is the worst activity yet. Worse than Vex Offensive. I can't even bring myself to do legend this week for the pinnacle drops. It's straight torture.
-
I kept my Sundial. Got it in my backyard. Only works at night tho.
-
Sundial and Vex Offensive are terrible. Sundial is more miserable when people don't bring the mods.
-
Why? Bungie is just going to add something exactly like it in the next season. Why have two (or three, or ten) of the exact same activity in the game? How much horde mode can you actually play?
-
Yeah let's downvote someone enjoying the activity to show once again what a bunch of losers we are 😎
-
Constantly slammed across the map by most enemies? Sure... sure... sure...
-
No because then Bungie would have no reason to continue with this season crap and maybe have to look at producing permanent dlc instead, which would ruin their FOMO agenda.
-
I'd be willing to lose Gambit to keep Sundial.
-
Legend is pretty fun, but it is a little disposable
-
The Sundial was designed to turn back time and rewrite history, hopefully with a more favorable outcome. We're using it to: A. Prevent the Collapse B. Get super disgustingly rich C. Shoot gobs of Cabal.
-
Don't worry sun dial will be going at the end of this season. It will be replaced with moon dial, same activity but with hive instead. The good part is you have to re grind to unlock everything again.. yay fun...... So much content....
-
No. Sundial is God awful.
-
Personally I dont like sundial. Imo it's a lazy version of menagerie. All of 3 bosses who function almost exactly the same. Only 3 stages that can lead to boss. To each their own though.
-
Also don’t worry. There’ll be a carbon copy next season.
-
Prison of elders or nothing.
-
Oh you. Don’t you know Sundial will be reskinned into next season menagerie? Sundial itself was reskinned Vex Offensive, Which was reskinned Forge. You’ll be okay sugar bear. 👍

I have a 4TB HDD connected to my XB1 for storage of the games and I have one SSD with 1TB also connected to my XB1 where I keep the games I'm currently playing, to take advantage of the amazing speed of that drive.

Nah. Sundial is stale and having it stay around would serve no real purpose other than fragment matchmaking even more.
-
No because that would go against the FOMO.
-
Just like the vex offensive all I thought while playing it was I prefer the menagerie.
-
Hell Fing NO ...... it’s time for bungie to get rid of the Burning dumpster
