Every company exists to make money, but at some point your greed can become so apparent that it just turns people off to what you're selling. Bungie is there for me. The Whisper skin was one thing, I was behind supporting a skin for a gun with that kind of quest development. What's going on now, a pop up advertisement for a skin that goes with a gun they just dropped some dead robots in a PvP zone and added a few minutes of dialogue to. That's just not something I'm behind. To each their own though, it's your money to spend.

  • I have no idea why everybody is hating on the devil’s ruin quest. Behind whisper and outbreak, it is hands down the best quest for an exotic. No BS endless mindless grind, no dragging you all over the place on an endless cycle of rinse and repeat, and actually gives some fantastic character development and fun writing in some characters most players want to see more of. More quests should follow this lead. And I have zero problem with a new skin for it. They skin everything else. This isn’t me supporting the greed machine that Bungie has become. The studio is diving deeper in dark places and bringing the playerbase with it. I just think the DR quest is actually a legit highlight.

  • What freakin' character development? Those three were acting the same as they always do. Nothing changed about them during that entire mission. Quit kiddin' yourself and get some better standards. Do I actually WANT to see actual good storytelling outta this franchise? Yeah. When there's an actual premise, plot and themes in place to make the characters actually shine for once. This joke of a quest might not have been a slog, but I ain't gonna praise 'em for doin' the bare minimum either.

Do you understand what “character development” entails?” It’s about exposition. History. Traits. How they interact with others. You got every bit of that during the dialog. The characters become less flat with every detail you learn. That dialogue was the definition of character development. It was nowhere near the bare minimum. It was a decent investment to have that dialogue go on that long and the writing was fantastic. You don’t have to like it, but pretending it was a minimalistic labor investment is disingenuous at best.

  • I agree. It was nice to relax and just explore and listen to the dialogue.
