( Wizards are considered as Mother's to the Hive) Xivu became the first Knight( Knights are considered the Males to the Hive) now Oryx changed and became an Embodiment of both a Wizard and a Knight, which then by the power of taking he became King. He grew the wings to fly because knights can't fly. So thier Hierarchy is Thralls are the new borns, if an acolyte dies a thrall takes its place. Acolyte is non gender so is Thralls. It's once a Wizard or a Knight Dies they then become that roll. So it gose from top to bottom: Worm gods Oryx and his Sister's Children of Oryx and His Sisters Children of the Children Wizard/Knights Acolyte Thralls/Ogre's That's thier set up. From lore Oryx , CROTA,ect. Chose the strongest Thralls to be thier child. Crotas daughter was as big as a Ogre and took her in. That's how they choose thier next of kin. And back to Winged Knights. Thier not or don't have the power to do that. Unless one was made King mabye. But Oryx was both the Embodiment of both Wizard/Knight. And with the power he gained he was able.
