If we didn’t evolve from apes, why do we have all the same primal instincts?

What primal instincts are you referring to? Our want to survive? A desire to hunt/kill? The desire to reproduce? Or others that I didn’t mention?

I think people give people too much credit. We can pretend we’re all smart and above nature and shit, but at the end of the day, everyone’s just trying to get laid.

That’s... debatable. I know quite a few people that have many other things higher on their priority list than getting laid. Though it is one thing some people want to do. I’m a Christian, day what I’m you want about that, but I believe that that desire is lust and it’s wrong. Sex should be reserved for marriage and that’s it.
