My Story AKA Why I'm permanently leaving Bnet

WARNING: The following post will likely be extremely long and may or may not have a summary seeing as this will be my final post on the site. Frankly I don't expect the ninjas to allow it to remain up very long since I will be openly criticizing people but maybe someone will see it and simply lock the post. A "monument to all my sins" and whatnot. "Be excellent to each other" says Cozmo. Well I certainly haven't always done that but I've tried for the most part I felt like. And this site was excellent when I first joined up. People talking about Destiny and there were other departments like Offtopic and Gaming (R.I.P) where you had discussions about non Destiny things, silly forum games and the like and for the most part just a fun time. Sure there were trolls and toxic jackwagons but thats why theres a mute user function. Then things slowly started to change in that you couldn't say certain things about certain people anymore. Jokes were steadily being cracked down upon by increasingly draconian ninjas for whatever reasons. I myself was slapped with a week's suspension for answering a poll question honestly which looking back I would say the same thing again except I wouldn't be as direct with my response because although true, the response I gave broke the rules thus bannedville. Sometime after that (I dont recall the exact date sorry. I want to say when D2 launched but moving on) the forum app ceased to function properly with my phone so I stepped back and stopped reading the forums and only within the last couple months did I start to come back and feel like the site could be home again. Well that all changed 2 weeks and now I understand this site will no longer be a place for me. The following is pure speculation on my part and will likely be considered witch hunting and thus banable but as I said this is my last day and post on the site so I no longer care nor will I be silent. I logged in two weeks ago to a notification that I was banned 1 week followed by a second week for quote "disruptions/insults/disrespectful" posting which was a genuine shock because I truly didn't know (and still don't) exactly why or what for. The only thing I can possibly think of is because I replied to someone who was very critical of Luke Smith with quote "I really wish he (LS) would step down or be fired" THAT is worthy of a 2week suspension? I was more disrespectful replying to someone that very day who said "I love putting down bad players like you" because I disagreed with their opinion and that didn't apparently violate the COC. Anyway because the site STILL doesn't tell you what you were banned for (It's 2020 people c'mon now. Twitter tells you why you were moderated get with the times) I pm'ed multiple people in charge of Bnet including BOTH community managers the following quote "Hello I logged into the forum over the weekend to apparently a 2 week total ban (1 week each for 2 posts) which is all well and good EXCEPT that I genuinely do not understand which posts were out of bounds and caused the ban because Bnet for whatever reason doesn't tell you other than the general vagueness responses (disrespectful/harassment in my case) which frankly is extremely unhelpful because I tend to forget what posts I read and respond to. As there's no option to contact the Ninja who banned me I was hoping maybe you could tell me what I did simply so I don't do it again. Thanks for your time and I look forward to a reply" Well guess what. Not a single word from anyone. Not one. Nowhere in there am I claiming that I was falsely banned nor am I disputing the I'm simply asking for a clarification because I'm not on this site to troll or be disrespectful and nobody could be bothered even just to send one of the typical cut/paste Bungie responses. Therefore I'm simply walking away. Congratulations guys you let down a community member in need and now I'm gone. I'm critical of Bungie and Luke in particular because I know this game can and should be something epic and special. This has been my favorite franchise since it's launch in 2014 and despite some of the downright awful PR decisions (Throw money at the screen...Really Luke?), predatory Eververse FOMO microtransactions and game balance issues I've stuck with it but after what happened here on the forums I'm frankly questioning my support for this series going forward. Oh I'm still playing for now but it's because I was gifted the season pass and I will honor that gift but after thats done? Who knows. In closing I want this site to change. I'd like to see more interaction from the community management and not the typical cut/paste responses and I'd like to see the Ninjas be held accountable for their actions and be more defined on why someone was banned, possibly even a military-style tribunal for any ninja overreach. And finally I'm going to say to whoever banned me that if me saying that I wished Luke would step down then you simply need to grow up. Criticism is NOT disrespect and if you were that triggered by it then maybe YOU should be one that should step down or be fired. Thank you all who took the time to read this hour long farewell. I met quite a few interesting characters on here in my days (Mrs Platinum if you're reading this I think you were my favorite user on the site) and even gamed with some of you but it's time to move on into that good night. See you planetside for any guardians on Xbox and Be Excellent to each other. Selfban in 3.2.1.

 • I love that a guy told me to go kill myself on here. The guy is still posting to this day, no temporary ban or anything. Yet I say the word "R***v" and I get banned for a week. Mods and Ninjas can be a bit weird sometimes.
