“Alcoholism only works on the weak minded”
“Obesity only works on the lazy”
People have legit money management issues, and people can easily become addicted to video games. People DIED playing WoW. They killed their children due to neglect.
Did you know that from the beginning Destiny was built using behavioral game design? They did tons of research to figure out how to psychologically “hook” players.
They use the same thought process when it comes to monetization, and it clearly works. FOMO is a very real tool that companies use to prey on people susceptible to addiction, or poor money management.
So, maybe don’t be an ass just because something doesn’t affect you. Drug addiction is real even though I don’t suffer from it... and THIS ought to be what even an 8-year-old should know.

I believe drug addiction, gambling and alcoholism are all quite different from FOMO. FOMO is nothing more than a childhood impulse, nurtured by parents who don’t know how to say no. Some shrink probably invented this, more than likely in the US to convince people they have a real issue and need to pay someone to fix it. Every kid on this planet has had FOMO probably since time began.

“Alcoholism only works on the weak minded” “Obesity only works on the lazy” Both accurate statements. What was Bungie done differently than any other developer? Remove content from their game because it can't handle keeping all of it in there? Great! It's not as if you weren't told about it before-hand. This isn't "manipulation" or "hooking", you're just mentally WEAK.

You're so -blam!-ing stupid I honestly hope you remove yourself from the genepool. Not a -blam!-ing clue what you're talking about, yapping like you're Einstein. Shut the -blam!- up you degenerate garbage. A company willingly designed a game to hit a population within a percentage of accuracy. Those people aren't "weak", they're the weakest of those targeted. There is no fixing that issue. It's made by design. All you can do is lower the total player pool, reducing the percentage of whales over time. ...guess who that would be. I'll give you a hint, it's you. And everyone else like you. You think your actions are harmless to the game. You couldn't be more wrong. Dipshit casual pretending to have a clue. You people are always amusing. Disgusting. But amusing.

Edited by OneLeanMachine: 12/10/2019 4:27:46 PMI hope for your sake you or any of your family never have to deal with any of the above issues, because I would take the greatest pleasure in showing them what you think about it. And yes, it is manipulation, considering they used psychologists to make it as addictive as possible.

People that stupid don't breed. So there's that, at least. You can always tell what -blam!- has never been to a funeral or lived a rough enough life. Absolutely blind to reality.

He's not wrong though? They are both accurate statements. I've never seen a hard working obese person nor have I seen a mentally strong alcoholic?

Plenty of the richest people in Hollywood are addicts. Half of America is considered obese/at risk, naturally, roughly half your workforce is also. In varying skills, including doctors. Both statements are broad and meaningless. They accomish nothing and do not create an argument.

Edited by ISOL4TE: 12/11/2019 9:53:33 AMBoth statements are accurate. Do you just like to use words and pretend they sound smart or something? If you're obese, you're a lazy person that does not regularly exercise or have a proper dietary plan, and if you're a gambler or alcoholic then you're mentally weak. Being in the workforce, or a doctor, does not mean you're not someone that neglects to care for your body or possess a strong enough mind to mentally deal with your life.

Why are you responding to all of my responses with useless ad hominems and repetitive statements? You're not helping anyone. Quit saying the same statement over and over again. And yes, people in my family have suffered from those issues. Guess what? They got over them. They weren't WEAK people. They called themselves WEAK in the past-tense. I'm sorry you aren't physically capable of getting over your own problems, you WEAK individual.
