As a diehard fan of the Metroid series but more specifically the Prime trilogy; its a no brainer for me, especially since I already own a Nintendo Switch.
The development delay for it actually doesn’t worry me at all, in my opinion, I think Nintendo is trying to make sure this isn’t a -blam!- up considering every Metroid game released since Prime 3 (with exception to Samus Returns, but it IS a remake of M2) has been met with little to no enthusiasm by the fan base. I also respect Nintendo for having the balls to come forward and say “we don’t like how this is going along and feel like you guys won’t either”. The inclusion of Retro Studios back into the project has me very excited as well, given that they’ve gone from strength to strength since the Trilogy with DK country.
Anyways, what about you guys? Are you interested in Prime 4 and will you buy it or not?

13 RepliesI want to say yes but the real answer is... kind of. I'm a massive fan of 2D Metroid. I want to be a massive fan of Metroid Prime but I haven't been able to play those games because of the forced motion controls. If Metroid Prime 4 has traditional controls and/or the motion controls are purely optional, it will be a day one buy. If it has forced motion controls... I probably won't bother. Depends if it's motion controls like Luigi's Mansion 3DS (which I can deal with enough to finish the game) or motion controls like Pokémon Let's Go (or as I like to call it, Pokémon Let's Get the Hell Away).
