D1 Account Tapir for at least a week — can you reassure us you haven’t deleted our data?

Like many others have posted, my D1 account has been inaccessible for at least a week, returning a Tapir error in game, and with DIM reporting “No Destiny 1 account found.” Enabling cross-save seems to be a common factor. So far, the only responses to these reports has been a vague “we’re looking into it”, which is remarkable given the years of gameplay investment represented by many of our accounts, and how long this has been going on. Can you at least reassure us Bungie hasn’t inadvertently deleted our data and our accounts will be restored? Can you provide any timeline for resolution? As a workaround, can we get our accounts back by disabling cross-save?
