Are the kids who complain about 'team-shooting' serious?

Or is it just some mass joke/troll? It must take a special kind of special to consider teamwork cheating 🤔 Guess some kids are just to salty about anything that kills them in a game nowadays 🤷‍♂️

  • It's serious, in that players want opportunities to rush and dominate multiple guardians for what people call [i]hero moments[/i]. I feel Destiny 2 has a lot more potential for these moments since Forsaken, and even more with Shadowkeep. There's always balance to be had, between pure thumbskill and strategy. We hope to hit a good mix of the two.

    • Honestly, people be out here like "wah, I walked into the enemies spawn and got killed by 4 people, this game is trash". Just know that when you get team blasted by said 4 people, there are some of us who see it as an opportunity to get 4 kills, and can sometimes pull it off. No engagement is certain. Anyone can slip up. If your fated to die, take as many as you can with you.

    • Teamshooting strategy is a buzzkill if youre on the killed end of it, but it aint cheating. Some players just need to smell their buddies tidy whites all game.

    • I'm with you... However, it sometimes seems as though 2 opponents shooting at you do 4x damage. I try to use corners to isolate the team shooters to just one, but often times their bullets appear to travel through granite.

      • Team shoot is every game. Most people in this game don’t understand the concept of it. They will watch you die to run in and snag a kill.

      • Lol I'd cry for joy if the blueberries I get would team shoot regularly. I've gotten used to teams who hardscope a lane even when we're talking fire from the back or side, people who run away from a numerical advantage, won't shoot a guy you're dueling for 15 seconds until you die, run past zones, charge solo into hot lanes and get shredded, and the one special player who goes 0.1 efficiency. Sign me up for team fire teammates anytime.

      • I complained about team shooting....... 2 year ago, when it was an issue!! Your posts a little late mate! And yes team shooting sucked. It's a team based activity?!? So what! I want to enjoy pvp! Following my team mates round, holding their hands isn't my idea of fun.

        • Team shooting annoys better players for a reason. Its not that they think that its cheating, its just annoying when lobby balancing gives you potato teamates, and then the enemy team holds hands at the back of the map, crouching at weird angles and spraying at choke points taking away a good players skill advantage and abusing bungies god awful map designs. I do comp carries and i can usually judge a players skill level pretty quickly. And the teams that give me the most trouble to beat, are the ones that spread out and team shoot. when 3 players play incredibly passively together, it vastly lowers the skill gap and outplay potential which just plain sucks and it becomes unfun. Its a legitimate strategy but it reduces the skill gap and outplay potential and slows the game down to a boring standstill and thats why it is despised so much.

              • It's more of how often something happens than the event itself. Look at it this way. 1v1, you're better if you win. 2v1, you're either lucky or better than both, especially if you didn't need OHK weapons and abilities to do so, any more and that is undeniable skill. I understand it's a team game, but when team shooting is constantly accompanied by spawn trapping/ killing and spamming OHK weapons and abilities like they've forgotten primary weapons exist, that's when I have a problem. Now let's set up a scenario which this happens so much that you're better off switching to another game for a bit. 6 randoms, various loadouts. This scenario often happens to these people including myself. 6 stack with these loadouts that can be or actually are considered toxic. Class number isn't exactly something that you can use in this example. Hunter: Wormhusk or Coyote with Arc battery and class mods. Warlock: Contraverse or Getaway with grenade and class related mods or Astrocyte. Titan: Skullfort or OEM with melee or super related mods, Stronghold, see below. Now lets set up the weapons that you'll likely see. Kinetic: TLW, Revoker, Randy's, Mountaintop, Chaperone, Blasphemer, max ranged Blast Furnace, DRB, Arbalest, Service Revolver, Malfeasance, Rat King. Special: Wavesplitter, Mindbender, Retold Tale, Recluse, Luna/ NF, Erentil, Beloved, Skyburner (with catalyst, strong af tracking and no falloff). Heavy: Tractor, Truth, 1k, Wardcliff, Hammerhead, Black Talon (dual purpose shield for teammates). This match would without a doubt, devolve into a heavily one sided match where supers are a lot more frequent than they should be, that's not taking into account the rage quitters and people who decide "nope, I'm out". When you're not getting spawn rushed with close-med range weapons, you're getting pinned down and surrounded by everything else. Then comes heavy weapons and there's not much point in moving from spawn. The score by that time is 7-30 at best more often than not, all made by a lucky sniper, shotgun/ fusion, or the lucky team kill which doesn't change the fact that both will die anyway. Would you call this fair? I certainly wouldn't. Just because it's not breaking any rules, that doesn't mean it's fair muchless skillful. Contrary to what some might believe, even if it's a legitimate playstyle/ strategy, cheap gameplay like this isn't much better than cheating.

                The people in here saying this is a cheap tactic is beyond hilariously. You're playing a team game! Another thing. This is why the glory days of online gaming will never come back. Those days, people had one objective regardless of in game rewards, TO WIN! So stop preaching Halo 2 was the greatest, blah, blah, blah, blah. 1. You don't really want that. 2. You couldn't hang with that mentality or crowd. Because you'd be kicked from the team or get offended because you'd be called out and told to get better.

              • I remember going after objectives in Halo 3 where teamwork was rarer than Ebola [spoiler]Assault was weird when you knew you’d have to punch the entire enemy team to death while everyone else floats around in warthogs and the only guy that lends you a hand is just passing by trying to get his quickscope montage[/spoiler] Play FFA if you don’t like teams dude lol

              • People didn't use to "handhold" as much. They would roam the map and look for 1v1's. Now so many people have to be "nuts to butts" running around in a herd because OMFG I can't risk dying EVER in quickplay. I get that it's "strategic" but it's also gross and less fun.

                  The rotating in and out of cover...or even in the open, has gotten outta hand. Everybody knows that it’s to divert aim assist. Can’t kill one guardian because the reticle shifts to the new “rotator.” This behavior naturally forces team shooting, which I’ve never enjoyed. There’s no tactical play involved, like actually moving and flanking. It looks like a mentally deficient dance and it never happened in D1. Maps, players and gameplay were just different, then.
