Warlock PvP Super issues

Nova Warp: This Super no longer functions well in PvP, it has great neutral game but the Super got nerfed in every single way possible: blast radius, damage against Guardians, charge time, charge cost, dark blink, holding a charge, damage resistance, movement speed while charging, etc... I understand the reason it got hit so hard. But in my opinion, it was hit 1000x harder than any Super has been hit before at one time. This was supposed to be a PvP Super, but it went from overkill to the grave ⚰️. After it was brought back from the grave during ARC WEEK, I thought it was pretty well balanced. It had just enough armor to make what was done to it bearable. But when Shadowkeep launched, ALL roaming Supers across the board were hit with a double nerf to damage resistance. The first being base armor resistance, the second was masterworked armor no longer having any resistance. These 2 nerfs combined with “slowed movement while charging,” killed Nova Warp [u]again[/u]. Even if my recommended solution created a monster, it will end very quickly. So just try to learn how to counter it please. I know Astrocyte Verse causes an issue with how far this Super can travel, but the majority of players that have mastered blink is very low. I’m not someone that can use blink, I can use dark-blink but not blink. Keep in mind I’m [u][b]NOT[/b][/u] asking for more armor, the ability to blast other players out of a Super, or even the blast radius reverted. All I’m asking for is to make Nova Warp a go-to option for Warlocks in the Crucible again. We won’t have many options next season due to some nerfs inbound, so can this one get some love? Here’s my suggestion on how to fix Nova Warp: [spoiler]Decrease charge time from 0.7 to 0.5 seconds. Remove slowed movement while charging. Decrease duration from 22 to 16 seconds. Lower the cost of a fully charged blast to allow 8 detonations within this time frame. Remove the cost of using dark-blink. Remove the extra cost to hold a charged blast. Increase PvE damage against majors & mini-bosses by 40%.[/spoiler]

[b]All I’m asking for is to make Nova Warp a go-to option for Warlocks in the Crucible again.[/b] We won’t have many options next season due to some nerfs inbound, so can this one get some love?[/quote] When the nerfs were applied, the team also put some work into buffing other skilltrees on Warlocks to make them more appealing, as Nova Warp was essentially the "go-to", or "end all be all" of Warlock Supers. It's a mix that players were only using the subclass, but players were giving feedback that it was the only subclass being used in crucible play. We've been seeing the feedback that the nerf was too hard, but we're also seeing plays in the crucible (from non-streamers) where the super can be used effectively. We're also seeing players using the Handheld Super-Nova with frequent success. Do you have any specific instances where the super felt underpowered due to enemies living through a fully charged blast? Are there instances where you've been gunned down by a single opponent and felt it was too quick? Throw some videos at me.

They also need to address the huge list of useless warlock exotics in crucible. Start with the warlock and get around to the Titan. You can’t have an eye mask type exotic with very few filling the void. Warlock and titans need crucible exotics (especially the locks) A thundercrash buff is another huge one also (in pve) as well as a nova warp buff in crucible.

      • In terms of nerfs....warp got hit with a plush toy. Spectral and blade barrage got hit harder. Warp got 4 nerfs...those nerfs were 80% reverted afterwards. Spextral and bardage got like 7 nerfs each.

          Decreasing the duration when it lasts 2 seconds already is a terrible idea, using the mobility part of the super destroys super energy, and what’s the point of addressing “warlock supers” if you’re just going to talk about nova warp

            • Maybe it's just me, but when I'm using Warlock while participating in Iron Banner, the Supers bounty is the easiest to get done while using this character. I think all supers should be reverted back to the date of September 4, 2018.

                I feel like its been going well for me in Iron Banner. Handheld supernova is so good, i just deal with the super. I have been getting multiple kills per super.

                • Can we also make the stormtrance consistent? I'm tired of using Warlock supers and having them be the least consistent things in the game, at least on console. Dawnblade whiffs more consistently than it hits, stormtrance connects but doesn't damage people as they get away having taken 0 damage, slowva bomb is just a heap of trash, there's too many issues with it to even bother listing them.

                • At the end of the day (no pun intended) since day 1 Warlocks are the least used class in PVP for a reason. I can come up with several reasons this is true but I have not heard a peep from Bungie about this under utilization. If anyone has any "real" answers I'm all ears however Bungie tunes classes based on their use or the lack there of. However Bungie seems to be saying......by their inaction.....they seem fine with Warlocks being a PVE class. If that is the case I wish they would just tell us or tell us why Warlocks are the least used and what is the plan to address that.

The melee isn't really that lethal aside from whoever you directly slap with the charge, and the delayed explosion barely even kills trash ads (nor does it chain I think). It provides little fuel for Dark Matter so you're pretty much reliant on HHSN to get your abilities back faster and the latter has limited range.

                          It needs a slight buff. Moving during a charge is so slow and I’ve seen people survive the blast. You get punished way too much for using abilities in this super when the charge should be a trade-off for max damage but slower movement. It’s not that great in PvE either. You could do add clearing I guess but with the super drain, it’s just weak.

                        • At this point, they should just scrap the Novawarp Super, and create a new one. Maybe one where you float around like a Hive wizard, shooting mini Lance Novabombs.

                          • Hahahah, NOOOOOO! The slower charge on the super is necessary so players can have an oppurtunity to escape for a poorly set up charge. If anything more supers need this kind of a weakness so players can dodge them, supers should not be freebie kills. Without a super that super is still the one of the hardest to shut down supers in the game because you have that dumb blink that lets you easily take 0 damage and then self heal after a kill (a passive that Titans LOST because it is a broken idea and should be also removed from the Nova Warp for consistancy as no super should have a way to heal itself for killing).

Your recommendations only undo everything that was broken about it despite you claiming you don't want nothing reverted. You say your recommendation is going to a monster and tell others to counter it ,but how would you counter a super with no costs to blink, no movement penalty, and reduced costs? Not to mention you pull the typical titans and warlocks vs the hunter. I hope warlocks get something but nothing you would suggest.
