Thats whats so sad about the direction of the game right now. Its catering to a tiny % of the community. Keep them interested. Make them heroes. Turn them into stars. Use them to sell the game. Its always been going on, but you could see it happening on twitter when the summits started. They have had several smaller unannounced summits since the first. These people have a huge voice in the games direction. A game built for them is good for very few in the community. In order to keep up with the game and compete with this group, requires 4-6 hours of play a day. Or as many call it, a part time job. Im not interested in watching others star or play. Im too competitive to not try to keep up. And as a guy who is a top 1% time played in both d1 & d2, im finding myself tired and bored. Im also being forced to use lfg because my group of friends cant keep up with the game, so they are lagging weeks behind or moving on. My son who was finally playing again has once again quit playing. I asked him this weekend why. His answer was he lost interest because he is too far behind. Between the artifact and the TIME required to keep up with the cost of infusing and chasing new meta weps, many are finding they have been left behind. It hurts those of us that have the time to keep up because we lose people to play with. Playing with lfg is no where near as fun. But you have to use it to keep up.
