Thanks for the feedback. I'll let the team know you feel Masterworking is currently too expensive.

I have to agree. I've used one so far since the Season of Undying started. So that means after all this time I have two waiting for a perfect piece of armor, and one masterworked piece of Iron Banner armor. The price to buy is vastly too high, and the other sources are way too difficult or time consuming or both. It's taking the fun out of the game to make it best for a select few who have all the time in the world to play. (Note, I put thousands of hours into D1 and almost as many in D2). But I can't find people to do the high-end Nightfalls at the times I can play most of the time. It's pretty darn discouraging to see these kinds of things that benefit the few people who can put the time in (i.e. not much in the way of lives outside the game). This grandpa is becoming less and less motivated to play much any more, and putting such obvious positive benefits behind ludicrously high challenges or such vastly expensive materials, it means we're always waiting for something better into which to infuse them.) Datto is pretty much right in his recent video that the complexity of armor is out of hand and becoming an impediment to playing, or sticking with Destiny 2. Sorry, I love the game, the lore, the friends, the challenges. But there really needs to be a less discouraging way to make the game viable for less than elite players too.

  • Not to mention, there is no solo way to get them. Too expensive to buy any only one source for a drop.

  • Armor 2.0 should have been the return of Tier 12 armor builds from D1. It's literally worse than what we had before.

  • Could you also feedback that one of the Triumphs for Season of the Undying is bugged. Says do 10 Public Events on the Moon with Seasonal Armour except the Seasonal Armour doesn't work, only Dreambane which is Shadowkeep not Seasonal. I, who bought the pass but not Shadowkeep can not aquire the title, which is disappointing.

  • Masterworking isn't too expensive in my opinion and I haven't Masterworked anything yet. Currently sitting at around 8 Energy on any one piece of gear, not because of a lack of Ascendant Shards but because I haven't found a piece of gear worth Masterworking yet. The closest I got is a 60 (70 with mod) pair of Gauntlets and even that is a maybe. Budgeting, Planning ahead, being conscious of what rolls are worth the cost is what the aim is. However, there are those who will blow their entire lot expecting the world and getting a cold bucket of water dumped on them when they see the cost. So I say leave it.

But the whole freaking point of doing it this way was to let us experiment with different builds and changing mods and seeing how it goes without losing mods for some other build later. If a person can only get one piece of armor per season to masterwork level, then it takes five seasons to get one complete masterworked armor? Now after a year I can start experimenting with 10 power? It's too much. Life is too short for this.

  • This post is like 3 months old. Way to grave dig this one up. Either way, it sounds like somebody is too lazy to do the work. This game requires dedication, if you can't do that then there's very little hope for you. Maybe play Warframe instead, they hand most of the game to you early game. Still, in 3 months things change. Pit of Heresy gave Fully Masterworked gear on completion. We learned that not all gear is made equal with 60 being the minimum for Masterworking. Iron Banner was great for getting 60+ point gear. If you're a soloist, well there's the least efficient option. If you have at least two friends or are willing to jump into LFG, you can get the materials if you're smart and conscious of your goals. In the end, the cost isn't high if you play the game with a modicum of intelligence and are willing to work for it.

  • Some of us work for a living. So we don’t have the luxury of playing when even our friends are available all the time. But your point is valid. I need to spend more effort in lfg and the.100.io looking for teams to join. Even so, the criticisms of the Armor 2.0 system is it was sold as a way to experiment. But it’s more about farming materials for an inordinate amount of time to even get started experimenting with any level of flexibility.

That's if you're buying them directly from Banshee-44, which is the LEAST efficient method and should be used as a last resort. Nightfall Ordeals are the best, at this very moment to gather Prisms and Ascendant Shards. Granted, it's grind heavy at the moment, which I don't like, but we also know that we don't have every source of Pinnacle gear yet. So have some patience and wait until all the loot sources are out.

  • Mate its a game.its there to have fun with. The system is supposed to encourage more builds to play with. It's incredibly restrictive.

I don't find it that restrictive, deliberate is more of the proper term. You CAN build into anything you want, but it takes time and patience. "Build Crafting" was stated to be a focus on the new system. You got to have some sort of plan and build towards it. If they freely gave you everything at once, then there would be screams about how easy it is. EDIT: Just as an example, I went into this season thinking I wanted to use SMG's and Fusion Rifles. I have a Solar Set of Armor for that aim, once I knew what mods went where. Then it's all stats and getting the mods fitted. Also, to be fair getting 7 Energy on a piece is relatively cheap in comparison and, while a little tight modding, is completely functional.

It's too much. The grind for the correct stats, affinity and mods. And the set armour you may want. And then the absolute absurd cost of upgrading and the lack of ways to earn the materials. Theres no experimenting going on there because you cant upgrade anything .

  • While I do agree it's quite a lot to take in, I don't think it's too much to be overwhelming. I do think a lack of a system to re-roll Affinity is sorely needed. As for Stats shouldn't be that easily re-rolled and instead should be found via gameplay. Mods are meant to fix good rolls to be more effective to the aims of the player. Also, Mods are fairly common from most vendors and other world sources. I've found most of the mods I needed from just running Public Events, Strikes for Tokens, or playing in the last Iron Banner. Granted, I may be blessed by the RNG here, but I Mods aren't a sore point I think. I think you're being unreasonable when you say "You can't upgrade anything". I went into this season with very little in the way of upgrade currency, say for Legendary Shards. I ground out a few materials as I was leveling and now I have enough energy on my armor to build into particular styles I want. The only thing that holds me back at times is not having the mod or the Energy, but I substitute what I need with something else and it works out. I was deliberate on what I wanted and I'm happy with what I got.

Leave it as it is. I want something to play for. I don’t want it given to me in less than a month. The master nfall is very hard at 960 but a great challenge. No new nfall emblem is poor and the scores mean absolutely nothing? A nfall triumph / title is something that should be in the game to grind for please. 👍
