Not gonna lie, I'm pretty OK with this new Nightfall system
The ability to either grind NFs leisurely with low difficulty and even randoms or go sweaty with friends is pretty nice.
I also think that this change made the NF rewards way more accessible and way more grindable for anyone, solo players included.

Agreed. I finally got the Braytech Offspray while grinding Strange Terrain in matchmaking. Next grind will be for DFA. I like the nightfall again. I liked it in D1 though because it was possible to solo all of the nightfalls with patience and effort.

Adding a bunch of bullet sponge yellow bars and annoying modifiers isn't "challenging". It's lazy game design. Just like the Boomers in Hard Mode Crota's End.

9 RepliesAgreed. I've been enjoying it as consistently running it (and improving over time) grants a TON of rare materials needed for leveling. Somewhat brings back the feeling of OG D1 Nightfalls.

I just wish the Nightfall counted towards the Eriana's Vow catalyst, because they sure as heck don't for me :/

1 ReplyI'm not very ok with this. Yes we can farm it and it's cool ( especially the 950 with a fireteam) but the 980 nightfall take 40 to 60 min and the Rewards are trash. Of course there is ascendant shards in it but it's a very low probability to get one. I do it for the triumph and now i don't really care anymore about that one. 980 nightfall need a total rework to have more reward of a better chance to get those rewards. The system is great, the rewards aren't great.

Here are some hard facts for you coming from a player who already reached the max on champion kills: 1) players don’t use mods, instead complete bounties => skipping champions, leaving the kills to others. 2) players are not even using appropriate mods, or weapons. 3) Drops are too random to be satisfactory: I completed several of them killing every single add in less than 13min and no one looting anything. Absurd. Broken. Inability to deliver. These are appropriate terms for what it is. 4) I wish I could solo the 920 instead of having to carry idiots who just want to complete counties. 5) Before you only had to complete one NF to get your loot. Now you can complete many NF and get nothing. But I guess I’ll have to wait for your favorite imaginary friend to post a video describing what I write for you to change your mind. EDIT: AS SOON AS I WRITE THIS IS GET 2 NINJAS JUMPING AHEAD. Lmfao! I wish Bungie would dedicate as many resources to their game as they do with the forums propaganda.

I really like the new format as well. The only way it could be better is if we had a choice of strikes instead of just one per week.

6 RepliesIf you are overhardcore player, married to destiny, have no life, someone paying your bills/works for you, get money for begging in the internet for likes and subscribe(and obidience), have a good clan, while in a clan you are in the "raid team" not just clan xp farmer then yes it is good. These are strikes and most know every single one of them that you know where everything spawns, etc... I was going to go into it and I scrolled over it only to be disappointed that it wasn't matchmaking. Oh well, I guess 5 years too late is better then nothing 😄

Gotta say i like it too, ran it a few times last night getting a few different people the 100k and kept refining our tactics and getting a boatlod of enhancement prisms and 2 exotics on the 5th run.

I love the Nightfall system. Difficult content that is actually worth grinding.... It's great! It would be even better if we could choose out of 3 different Strikes like last year tho. Would make it so much easier to grind for Mindbenders/etc.

6 RepliesAgreed, with armour 2.0 the new Ordeal Nightfall's are super relevant and actually offer a nice challenge for a decent reward. The fact it is grindable just puts the icing on the cake. Hopefully, Master Nightmare Hunts live up to the hype.

2 RepliesI agree. Still have a little criticism. For the 980 NF's the new Divinity trace rifle combined with 2 Inzanami's Burdens seems to be the only option for champions to kill them quick and stay within the time limit.

I think the difficulty options are great. Imo it makes it just a bit more fun/interesting because of the challenge. Instead of falling asleep running the regular strikes. To improve the mode: 1. Ordeal should have rotating 3 nightfalls in its pool instead of 1. 2. More loot, more rewards at the end of the strike. Strike specific boss armor???? 3. Add strike specific weapons to the new strikes. Also increase drop rates on higher difficulties.

You know what's not nice is when people skip adds on 920 when 100k is easily attained. Or even skipping champions.. As your loot is worse the less you kill and skipping champions.

What light would you (or anyone else here) reccomend? Just about to hit 950 (not counting my 12 Artifact Light) and I am wondering what Light I should consider being at to complete one...

4 RepliesI agree completely. Decide to try the Hero level today, but none of my 200 destiny friends play the game anymore. The matchmaking worked just fine. No communication but we all knew what we needed for weapon mods and got 84,000 score.

I'm enjoying them too , great to be able to farm exotic rolls with relative focus , would be cool if the 950 had matchmaking now also tho as a lot of the playerbase are up there now & it's not that tough to need coms imo .
