The Season of redemption: The Mercury Paradox.
So this is actually part of a really, really big "quality of life" thing I've been kicking around for awhile outside of these forums, its a compilation of Ideas, suggestions and honestly good advice I have seen in the community that I've compiled into a single Google document that I jokingly called "the season of redemption." I started working on this back when Warmind came out, and again when Jokers wild had its hick-ups. The main point of this is to hopefully show the Devs that We, The community, wants to help improve the game and make sure it stays afloat for many, many years to come.
So OK, lets all come to a singular agreement here: Mercury kinda sucks. Its not really mercury's fault either, Curse of Osiris doesn't seem like it got a lot of love in its development cycle compared to any of he other DLC's. And the solution to fixing this is not simple, But here are my suggestions (and some that i have gathered from the community) on how we could improve this sad little moon: The Truely Infinite Forest: Make the infinite forest a lost sector that is similar to the EAZ, full of tough bosses and resources for us to gather. maybe make it correspond with the weekly flash point, Floating islands and sprawling expanses for Io, Nessus, Titan, ETC. The Fall of Mercury: The Almighty did a number on Mercury and now its falling apart, Let the community decide whether or not too completely destroy the planet or to save it in a jokers wild style faction war where we pick a side and do tasks to try and increase the planets stability or destabilize it even more, leading too a Mercury that is completely revamped (a bigger patrol zone) or shattered into pieces (the lighthouse and patrol zone that currently in place remain but the sky box changes to show them now sadly floating in a sea of debris) This would make it feel like we, the player base, did something big and impactful to the world of Destiny. Historical reenactments: Read a really cool lore entry in the Grimoire and go "ah man wish I could have been there..." Well the Infinite forest can now simulate that entire Grimoire book and let you relive cool little lore snipets like Twilight gap, six fronts, the great hunt, the Great Disaster, ETC. Vex simulations are near perfect recreations after all, lets exploit that! (and maybe feed them absolutely garbage data about how history happened ;P) The Infinite Community: Hey who loved forge mode? God i loved forge mode in Halo. If only there were a place in Destiny we could build custom Missions, Strikes, Crucible/Gambit maps, and wave survival stuff. If only there was a place that "in cannon" allowed you to build and simulate impossible terrain in a seemingly INFINITE space... if only this game was attached to a platform that had some sort of Workshop where we could Build and Download these maps and share them with our fellow members of the community. Give us some basic building blocks and let us share maps with each other via Steam workshop, it will extend the life of this game into the Stars. And that is the First part of my "Season of Redemption" Series, next will be "A cosmetic Conundrum" where I outline how letting your talented community make cosmetics for the community can lead to fun, profit, and funny memes.
