It seems every Friday here at work, we get on a tangent about food. So I am asking the same questions here to see what you all think, being from all manner of different locations.
If this goes well or I can remember to, I'm going to try to make a different Friday Food thread a weekly thing. We'll see....
This week?
French Fries
Who makes the best ones?
Now since I can't put all the differing possibilities in the poll, I'm sticking strictly with the most common - nationally available names. If you would like to offer your opinion, then please choose "Other" and let us know what that may be. This includes Arby's Potato Cakes instead of actual french fries, and also Chik Fil-A waffle fries.
Do not qualify;
KFC mashed potatoes
Wendy's baked potatoes
-
Chick Fila waffle fries hands down
-
If anyone doesn’t say Five Guys, you have undeniably shown that you are unworthy of grace, heathen.
-
On your list I would say McDonald's. Buffalo Wild Wings has fire potato wedges but you have to ask for them extra crispy. Five guys is over rated. I feel like people like them because they give you a shit load. Always soggy and the Cajun seasoning that people always say "you have to have them put that on there" is basically Lawry's seasoned salt with a little cayenne pepper... At least what it seems like. Bottom tier fries in my opinion.

CHICK FIL A!!!
-blam!-ing pretzels!
-
I hate to admit it but McDonald’s makes some nice ass french fries, anyone who picks Burger King needs to be old yeller’d though.
-
Checkers (or Rally’s depending on where you live). Food is kinda garbage in general. But those fries.. man, those fries.

Edited by tjustie: 10/19/2019 5:10:03 AMBlackfinn Ameripub (or Grill? Not sure if the local one is a separate thing) has my favorite fries easily. Crispy and delicious. Go Roma had awesome shoestring fries, but I think all the Go Romas closed 😔
-
Wendy's by a longshot.
-
Whataburger & Raising Cane's
-
Edited by pencilsnake: 10/19/2019 2:37:37 AMChili’s, but Chik-Fil-A has the best sauce
-
There’s a Coney Island in genesee Michigan with battered fries... the best with homemade buttermilk ranch...
-
It all depends on how fresh they are...
-
Best French fries? As a potato enthusiast I have to say... All of them.
-
Five Guys fries, with Campfire Sauce from RR
-
5 guys for best fries in general Arby’s for them curly fries Portillo’s for 2nd best fries
-
I’ve got to give this one to Chick-Fil-A. Their fries are delicious. Wendy’s is a close second. As far as frozen fries go, Costco sold these really good ones someone got me once.
-
Texas Roadhouse loaded steak fries

Homemade French fries
coming from 6 years of experience
Edited by themirror2man: 10/18/2019 7:58:24 PMIll go Arbys. I do like McD's and Burger kings too. Close 2nd and 3rd. 5guys are ooookeeey... Just a little over rated. Steak and shake and Hardees are not fit to serve a rat.
-
I like mine like I like my D2 forums. Salty AF
-
Red Robin has bottomless fries... Just putting that out there.
-
I like Red Robin’s if they are hot and I have ranch.. other than that I like Whataburger fries inside of my burger.. some people even dip them in chocolate shake.. it sounds gross but I tried it and it’s pretty gr8

I have a hierarchy in this; 1) McDonald's I don't know what they do to their fries to make them like they are, but they will always be at the top of the list. Especially the long, softer ones. 2) Steak & Shake They are the half scale equivalencies to McDonald's fries. 3) Arby's potato cakes. Their curly fries can suck it. 4) Five Guys Sheerly on volume. They give you a half sack full even if you order a normal amount. Any seasoned fries I don't really care for. So Burger King, Red Robin, Arby's curly fries, and I know it's not fast food, but Appleby's I eat, but do not really like. Especially Appleby's. WAY too much seasoning.

Kiki’s
-
... Since we're going on fry alone I'm going with McDonald's,because I can eat those things straight basically everyday...
not included in the DLC
