A Fading light (Might wright more)

(This is a appropriate story, there will be some violence and bad grammar but that's it) Made by : Darthkaechi This was in Off-topic but i just realized this tab exists This is a story on how a Guardian strays from the path of the light and enter the path of Darkness There were many things in this world of danger, there were the Fallen, I always hated them, they were disgusting, I would land my ship and almost two minutes later they would on it and tearing it apart with their slimy hands. I always saw them as four armed freaks, I only respected a very few amount, maybe a vandal in the Cosmodrone but that's about it. Next the Hive, I never really liked them, some guardians are afraid of them, but I just find them annoying. Now the Vex, the Vex are... complicated, they have killed many guardians, whether trapping them in a never ending simulation, or kill them with their never ending numbers, I don't have much to say about them. The Cabal, oh how the mighty have fallen, the great empire that once destroyed the Tower, the one thing no one else could do. Now they fight over pockets of land spread out the solar system, warlords trying to reclaim of what was their great empire. They were once honorable, swift, efficient, and organized, but now they are nothing more than right fighting among themselves for food. Finally, we have reached the taken, I was always fascinated by them, they had an aspect of each of the other races i have mentioned, They were scavengers, not for parts, but for bodies, they would take them and make them their own. They were also terrifying, being able to install fear into their enemies knowing that each person who died would become a part of their great army. They also like the Vex and Cabal, they had a never ending army and could appear almost anywhere, while also being swift, efficient, and organized. I once feared them, knowing that every living thing that dies becomes a part of them, they were like and infection to me, spreading rapidly across the planets and moons, but now my fascination has become an obsession. They are immortal, not only from death by warfare, but also by age you could live forever, no new parts needed, no dying at age 700 but true immortality. Us guardians are seen as gods, the bringers of light and prosperity, but the truth is, is that we are just as mortal as everyone else. We will die at age 700, we will die to a sniper round, but we have ghosts many say. The ghosts use light to revive the dead back to life, but the light, the light is not everywhere, the light is not there when your fire team is dead and you are the last one left to kill the Taken King. The light is not there when you have arrived home and a paraded around as a hero even though you know what really happen there. The light is never there for you, there is only darkness, darkness is everywhere, whether it be under your bed at night, or lurking gin the basement, there is always darkness. The ghosts cannot revive the people who have died in the darkness. Guardians die everyday, on Earth, on the Moon, on Mars, on Nessus, Titan, Tangled shore, Mercury, or the Lost city. These guardian die, not for five seconds then are suddenly back to life, but dead. They can never come back, Death is a scary thing for many people, you can get used to it, but you can never truly except it. You can try to except death as all people do, but truly excepting it means you must come to the realization that you, one day must face death and willing come with it. Nobody cannot truly except that although every tries, except me, I reject the fact of death, I will not be taken by the cold grips of death, rather I will do the one thing no one or thing has done, I will outlive death. The hive may be able to live forever but you must pledge you alliance to a worm god, You must kill to survive, but you will eventually run out of things to kill and you yourself will be killed by the worm. I myself have found a way of immortality through the taken and I intend on doing it. Being a warlock has helped me with my research, as I have access to almost every piece or writing in the Tower. I have been studying for years and have found many weapons in the past that suck the souls out of the body of others and store it inside of the weapon. After killing the Taken king I tracked down his body in space and was able to find a large dagger on him, when I went to take it shrunk down to a size suitable for me. I have never used it but I think I now know how to use it for my purposes, as I think about this another guardian interrupted my thoughts. "Hey man, what ya thinking about" It was an old friend, his name was Alex, he was an Exo hunter standing at six feet usually wearing Graviton forfeit and some other purple armor which for some reason he loved "Nothing" I respond "You sure? Eh, well any way I've been getting low on glimmer and was thinking maybe you could let me have some" I hear him say "No." I respond, annoyed by the suggestion "Come on man, you have over five hundred thousand and you never use it, how about you and I go get some, what's the most glimmer filled place you know" I instantly respond with "The Lost city" "Really? ok then, I'm ready to go how about you" "Sure" I say We both get into our ships and travel to the lost city, I start to lead him down to the darker, fully taken spots under the lost city. I started to lead him to the edge of a taken hallway "I've never been down here, how do you even know about this place?" He asks "There's Glimmer" I say ignoring the question and point to a taken room and the very end of the room. I lead him into the room and as soon as you enter you get a feeling of an ominous presence, there are large piles on both sides of the room, millions of glimmer filling over two thirds of the room, but there is only one truly valuable thing in this room. At the back center of the room there is an altar of pure taken energy, on it there is a skull of a creature from the past, I was not able to find any records of what it was but you can tell it is very powerful. I can tell the skull is completely taken to the point of which it is almost pure taken energy, no longer the thing it once was. I take my dagger out I see its beautiful black energy radiating off of it, I turn to Alex, currently scooping piles of glimmer into his bag and I raise my dagger to the unaware Guardian. (Well that's it folks) I might wright more on this story and continue on the story of how a guardian slowly strays from the path of the light and into the path of darkness, but that's only if people like it and it does well. Thanks for reading!

This is interesting. Good job! May I add this to my Archive?
The Archive is a collection of posts on Destiny Companion. They contain an alphabetical list of writers in the Destiny community and links to their stories and creative writings. Basically, with your permission, I put your name in with a link to your writing. You get all the credit, and everyone has easy access to your story at all times. To find out more about the Archive, follow the link above (click the yellow word “Archive”). If you do not respond, I will assume you are inactive and wait about a week before adding your story to the Archive. If at any time you ask me to remove your story from the Archive, I will do so.
And here are a few corrections that could help your writing: You should definitely divide your story into paragraphs. A text wall is horrible no matter how good the story is. Chucky is correct. It’s spelled “write” not “wright” The following corrections are related to lore, so you can ignore them if you intentionally deviated from lore:
The Cabal, oh how the mighty have fallen, the great empire that once destroyed the Tower, the one thing no one else could do.
But the Fallen are the ones who destroyed the other six Towers lol. At the Battle of Twilight Gap the Fallen came closer to taking the City than the Cabal could have without their Cage, and they would have won for good if House Wolves had arrived. My point is: don’t list destroying the Tower as an achievement. Instead say, “the great empire that once took the City, the one thing no one else could do.”
A lot of stuff you said about the Taken isn’t correct. If you want me to explain I will. I got a little confused with what you said about Guardians dying. Guardians don’t age and are more immortal than anything else. I’m not sure where you got the number 700 from.
After killing the Taken king I tracked down his body in space and was able to find a large dagger on him, when I went to take it shrunk down to a size suitable for me.
I’m guessing the dagger refers to the Taken Grimoires “Here is a knife for you, it is shaped like []” That knife is metaphorical, and Oryx does not have a knife. He had his sword, Willbreaker, which was the extension of his will and in his hands was basically the deadliest weapon you’ll ever see. Eris took Willbreaker and Shaxx helped the Guardian make a sword with it, so we actually had it. So if you meant to use your dagger as something like a weapon, use Willbreaker instead. If you were going to use the dagger as some sort of Taking item, there’s also a much better option: the Tablets of Ruin. When Oryx learned to speak with the Deep and Take, he wrote it down on tablets and kept them. So if your Guardian is going to Take something, he better have taken the Tablets of Ruin off of Oryx’s corpse.
