I honestly believe the word 'optional' is literally invisible to certain individuals.
Like, it doesn't exist at all to them.
Take this: 'Optional Matchmaking'.
They read it it: '[REEEEEEEEEDACTED] Matchmaking'
True fact.

I’d rather them work on something else that adds content of fixes things in game, or even sort out PvP balance rather than implement optional matchmaking for raids. It’s not really a necessary thing since it’s so easy to LFG. I wouldn’t even class it as Quality of Life since the quality of the optional matchmaking will likely be poor. If you enjoy a team of 5 mismatched languages then try the Division and it’s matchmaking.

Raids in an in game LFG that's just dedicated to raids. Then it'd be fine. However, I'm more interested in having solo or 'private' launches into strikes and nightmares, which they've done before anyway, so it wouldn't take away many resources to implement.

You stating literally to a metaphor is hilarious to me. The example you provided is literally the definition of figuratively.

Yeah, but my point is that it's so common that it goes beyond just being a figurative phrase... so much so that the only logical reason so many people can't see the word 'optional' must be because it's literally invisible to them. Which is the joke.
