Due to recent feedback asking for a reduction in the amount of Heavy ammo available in Crucible we are issuing a server-side change to the following modes. These changes should be live now!
Control will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 45 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 45 seconds and then every 60 seconds.
Clash and Supremacy will now have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then every 120 seconds. It was spawning in at 15 seconds and then every 60 seconds.
We don’t have server-side settings to change up the new 3v3 Survival mode but do plan to make the following changes in an update later this month.
Survival will soon have heavy ammo spawn in at 60 seconds and then again 60 seconds later just as the tiebreaker objective spawns. It is currently spawning in at 30 seconds and then every 60 seconds. The amount of heavy ammo granted will be reduced to match the amounts in Elimination and the 6v6 modes. We saw a lot of feedback about making heavy one round or being removed but wanted to make sure there was still an incentive for players to maintain map control and not camp at the edge of the map once they have a life advantage. We will continue to monitor feedback on these changes.

Edited by Niinja Slayer: 10/8/2019 8:36:57 PMUh how about no heavy ammo at the start. And heavy ammo spawns every 5 minutes? And please remove heavy ammo from competitive completely. It was so much better in D1!

I think this is a great change. I agree that taking heavy out with create a camp fest and shouldn't be entirely eliminated.
-
Thank you, finally! Now let's cut Coil and Truth down, and we'll be in much, much better of a place.

Edited by GigaHellblaze: 10/8/2019 11:08:37 PMCan you guys fix the Nighmare missions on respawning if you die you get locked in the room and you can't get through the door there should be a Joining Allies on the screen if you get locked in any room. Also you should fix the strike the Corrupted, if you die in the room to her, you shouldn't be spawning all the way back to where you have to jump down to that Taken portal on the floor(I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about). Can you guys fix these respawn problems? That would be great. Update: There's also a problem in Vex Offensive apparently if you die, you can get stuck under the map it happened to me just now I got stuck under the map on the 2nd offensive after I died and respawned under the map. Has this happened to anybody else besides me?

I need a refund. Quit taking out fun.

Omfg bungie you never listen!

Eris moan isn’t giving any items out for completing her weekly bounties.

Edited by Wardog Keith: 10/8/2019 7:50:52 PMNothing about how shit armour 2.0 is? Or the rest of shadowkeep for that matter? Maybe address the fact there is only one new exotic armour in a £30 expansion.

I wish we had a mode similar to Hardpoint from CoD but that moved the Heavy Spawn point with the Objective.

You make cap and heavy spawn at same time so which do we play in a 1 v 1... because 2 v 1 they're getting heavy which makes no sense I think I can take 2 v 1 but once heavy comes in its 2v1 plus a handicap.

I love this! Small change better and there throughout the season are much desired. We heavily dislike waiting entire seasons for such changes to things as trivial as heavy. Granted, I have no idea how hard it actually is to make these changes.

im never getting this mountaintop quest done 0=( now
-
Bungie, you're -blam!-. You just removed a portion of strategy game play. A lot of my game play is to watch for people goes for Heavy and kill them as they try to pick them up. Why not remove spawn with Special ammo as well? I see more Guardians playing Baseball(sliding > shoot > punch) than gun play.

Edited by SEHMITRON: 10/8/2019 5:34:50 PMThat’s still too much twice a game in two locations like d1 it was perfect but at least your acting on it
-
Why such an early heavy start still though? A minute into a match before heavy spawns is barely any time. It should be at least 2 minutes before heavy starts spawning.
-
Leave the heavy ammo just on mayhem and remove on the others, but don't forget to remake The Mountaintop thriump.
-
With SBMM in every mode except 1 you can change what you want, PVP has become an absolutly frustrating PVP experience. Sad that you went the casual player way again with SBMM
-
What about the feedback for the needlessly restrictive elemental affinity for mods?
-
I appreciate the fast response. Im gonna try this changes to come back here and give feedback.
-
No that is how a developer engaging their community should behave. Bravo Coz
-
I like to hear that you guys are making changes so quickly. It’s definitely a step in the right direction and I also like to see that you’re easing into a change, not just jumping from one end to the other.
-
So you’re keeping elim the same? What’s the matter with you guys? It should be one round not every round!
-
So, when can we have fun?
-
We'd like to see the heavy eq ammo able to be brought with the character he/she has accumulated. As well as spawn every 10 seconds. Also we could have a death match just with heavy ammo only. We'd like to see everyone spawn in a room 100x100 and just see who's left.
-
Don't get me wrong this is a step in the right direction, and thank you for addressing it. But heavy should only spawn in once a game in competitive this still incentivises heavy too much at the end of the day who ever gets heavy wins totally busted reduces skill gap. D1 Heavy was perfect please revert it too this. Mountaintop Recluse is silly overpowered OEM and bottom tree striker barely touched (Unlimited Shoulder Charge)

Any plans for special ammo economy in PvP? I have no problems with shotguns, snipers, etc. but never running out of special ammo isn't right and more one-hit kills leads to worse PvP experience IMO. Also existence of heavy-like special ammo weapons like The Mountaintop makes abundance of special ammo more problematic.
