Handcannons are fine they just play in their perspective ranges now. The only handcannon I and most have noticed that was hit unintended was crimson which was supposed to get a buff but the effective range nerf was not factored in when tweaking crimson. It just needs to go back to being red death and a pulse rifle because it is worse than it was before the buff.

    Similar can be said for Ace. With Memento Mori active, the range dropoff is more steep to keep it's range in line with normal Ace. So say Ace normally hits 40 per crit at 30 meters now. Ace with MM will also hit 40 per crit at 30 meters. That means MM does absolutely nothing if you leave that intended range, which drastically limits the perk. Gun had less than 3% of use on console for the last year and it got nerfed that hard.

  • I use ace and it is fine it just can't map anymore ,Duke still can map but thats more or less because I countered the nerf which high range and rangefinder. Crimson was supposed to be able to do 16 per body and 26 crit. I barely see 13 and maybe 23 crit but thats when I'm playing in its range. Ace is still a crispy 3 tap,crimson takes 4 shots and most times you will either trade with your opponent or die outright.

    I mean yeah, Ace feels good. I used it every day during Y2 on console. And now it feels really good, but the range nerf put huge limitations on MM, which is weird because perks like kill clip actually do extend the range of other guns (they aren't affected by damage dropoff as harsh as MM is). And Crimson literally got neutered. Blanket nerfs should just never affect exotics in my opinion.

  • I still murder with ace on both pc amd ps4. The catalyst will change your opinion and is well worth the grind. Crimson is just a shadow of a better hin at this point. I knew handcannons were eventually going to get nerfed because they was causing the same issue in d2 that they did in d1. Eriannas vow is really if you can control it. I have handcannons thst counter the nerfs so its no prob. I'm happy with the crucible changes because right now everything is lethal and from my observation nobody knows what to use and thats balanced in comparison to what it was.

    Yeah. Ace is still good. I'd just hardly consider it any better than an Austringer now. With the steep MM range falloff, there's not a huge reason to choose Ace over a max range Austringer. There just isn't. And yeah. Maybe the meta will figure itself out soon. I just hope this scout rifle spam ends soon.

    True, but maps fix that. Pushing a quest so everyone and their mother uses one is an annoying way to change things up.
