I wish they where still a part of the game.
I wish they where like they where in D1 where you joined one and earned a little bit of tokens with almost every thing you did.
I think it would be cool if the Factions had Crucible and Gambit events, if Rallies where reworked as a way to raise light, kinda like Iron Banner and if they too where involved with how the world evolves and changes over time. We could have escort missions or defense missions where we protect faction aligned civilians as they attempt to further that factions agenda.
Edit: one of my memories of Rise of Iron was doing the first mission in all New Monarchy gear. I loved that Auto Rifle.

Destiny 1 felt more like destiny then this does..
-
Great idea. FWC for life!!
-
They're still there!!! Just sitting there doing nothing!!!
-
Back in my day we had to wear class items to gain rep what a time that was kiddo
-
You would think bungle would be all over this, since it’s a great excuse to reskin old armor
-
Radio silence from Bungie.

Ideally there would be some quests/missions for your faction of choice, but if that's not possible I feel like there are some relatively simple alternatives regularly suggested (demanded on the penalty of death) by other community members. Here's mine: - Pick a faction at the beginning of the season - You're character or account is locked into it for the season - Prime engrams and world drops have a chance to be randomly rolled faction weapons or armor, with random rolls. That's it.

Azoth17 You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

We have this thread every day and have had them for as long as I've been back playing (maybe two months before the end of season of Opulence?) Bungie won't make those changes yet because it isn't hurting then financially not to. If player count/income ever starts to drop and they don't have content prepared, they'll probably implement a faction change. Or they'll tie it to a paid DLC release like they do every time they make systems changes.

Absolutely YES! Even if there were no more faction rallies (please let them come back) it's still wasting three opportunities for gear, even if its old. Open them up as joinable faction vendors that sell gear, weapons, bounties, and grant faction unique rewards. Have it just like in D1 where you can only join one per week and have the faction's logo appear next to players' names in their emblems to show who they are with. Real easy.

"Do some thing with New Monarchy, Dead Orbit, and Future War Cult!" Bungie: we hear you loud and clear as we are always listening! *Bungie proceeds to create a new cinematic where the tower is attacked and all 3 faction leaders are the only casualties*
-
It would also be a great way to add armour and weapons to the loot pool. I'll do anything for more armour, Bungie, please.
Wort
100% agree on this one ☝️ bump
-
Bump. Keep this going
-
Thanks for the 100th feedback. I'll let the development team know.
-
Knowing Bungie, they will bring back factions.... In the form of a DLC that we have to purchase....
-
They've got their hands full reskininng everything.

Edited by Corrick II: 10/4/2019 2:45:15 PMNow that Bungie is operating on a finite budget they have to focus on what really sells the game. Is it expanding the story in new and meaningful ways by adding new gear, missions, lore, and endgame activities, or is it updating a Faction system that never really amounted to much beyond having a few more vendors standing around. I’m going to take a wild guess and say it’s the former. I’m sure they want to give Factions the fair share they deserve and make them actually relevant to the game, but they just don’t have the time or resources. Unless they decide Factions are important enough to make an entire expansion around, I doubt we’ll see much beyond some very basic updates, or nothing at all.

Edited by TheBostonbean: 10/5/2019 3:26:46 PMI understand your dream scenario of how factions would play but that would require a whole rework of how the game is played. The only two things I remember about factions are armor and weapons catalyst with people switching factions to get those catalysts. It seems clans serve whatever purpose factions would, like for example, xp for powerful gear.

What's funny is the characters in the tower still talk about the factions, and the faction areas still exist but serve 0 purpose.
-
Yeah!

9 sets of gear and some weapons missing from the game. So without updating really anything else in this game what loot is there to chase?
-
Eververse. Is. All. Bungie. Cares. About. Everything else be damned.

Edited by DigitalGoomba: 10/5/2019 3:11:03 AMDamn shame they won't bring factions back.
