DDOS will not cause restrictions. There are only 2 reasons one can be restricted from pvp activities, one is connection issues and the second is cheating/playing with a cheater. Assuming it is connection issues, you would have had to been reported for them, numerous times. It would be extremely unlikely for the players you are accusing of DDOSing you to report you for connection issues.
My internet is still having hiccups and I cant do my Chemical Engineering homework from home until Spectrum can change my IP.
DDOS end after at most a couple hours, in most cases a few minutes because the cheaters only want to get you out of the game are typically are not going to tie up their connection or pay to have you attacked for hours upon hours. I am going to post bungie's statement on connection restrictions along with their tips for improving the connection.
Beginning soon, players with the most unreliable connections will receive an in-game warning. We know that connection quality is fluid, so don’t worry if you have occasional, temporary issues. If you receive one of these warnings, please visit the Network Troubleshooting Guide. If your connection does not improve, there are additional guides available that can help you in diagnosing advanced network issues. If all else fails, contact your ISP for assistance. If your connection does not improve after an in-game warning, and we continue detecting a negative impact on other Guardians, restrictions from PvP activities may be applied to your account. If a restriction is applied to your account, you will be unable to participate in PvP for two weeks. If you continue to play on an unreliable connection that harms the experience of other players, that restriction may be extended.
(source) If for some reason you are not able to improve the stability of your connection, it is recommended to refrain from playing pvp activities as the negative side effects of your connection will lead to longer restrictions. Connection based restrictions: 1st is 2 weeks 2nd is 2 months 3rd is permanent If you would like assistance in troubleshooting, please list: Tested up and download speeds Latency Jitter Packet Loss How are you connected to the router *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.

 • I never have any issues with any other game. Never been ddosed on any other game. I know its because I was ddosed. I wouldn't have to the forums if I wasnt. It takes alot of BS for me to post on a forum

 • Other games have other requirements. I am not saying you were or werent ddos'd. What I am saying is that being DDOS will not get you a 2 week restriction. • You were reported for bad connection, srt checked the games in question, along with your history of connection. They seen its an ongoing issue and restriction was placed. Has nothing to do with a " dos" attack, and other games are completely irrelevant, as they dont use bungies hybrid p2p connection

 • I am sorry but you are clearly getting confused. Did you have to contact your ISP after said Ddossing?

 • Yes. I had to get spectrum to change my ip. Much harder then it should be. Plus they confirmed that I was getting ddosed. I was also on the phone with them while it happened once. I'm not dumb everyone. I know what getting ddosed is. It's the plague of Comp

 • They wouldnt have just " confirmed it was a dos attack" . They would have contacted the fbi, and you would have been contacted by the fbi. They would come and get the router, as well as the system this attack happened on, as its a federal crime. Our neighbor went through this on fornite. This shows you just have connection issues, not a real dos attack

 • For to reach a restriction level, you would have had been reported for lagging, investigated, warned, reported for lagging, investigated and restricted. They look for consistent issues not several spikes in issued that are caused by a DDOS. If you know what a DDOS is then you would know that they are relatively brief in duration ( for gaming) and that once they are done you would not have residual issues that would be fixed with a IP refresh. Either way, you have 2 weeks to sort it out to avoid longer restrictions. Best of luck to you.

 • What's the point of a forum of issues dont get fixed? Also why doesnt bungie have a support number.

 • The point of the forums is to give you correct information. they do not have a support number because they do not wish to staff it 24/7 to tell you information that is available via the forums.
