2019, still cabbage

I have to say that I am NOT an happy customer: got the game few months ago on xbox one, due to the cabbage issue the game was pretty much unplayable, decided to stop to play it for some months and now I tried to it give another shot, result? After gigs of patch there is still the same unplayable mess cabbage problem, sometimes I can play fine for 1h with no issue, some other time I can't play even for 5 minutes, also I just read that now the game is going F2P. So yeah, Destiny 2 at the end was a total waste of money, and yet after all this time I still cant play the game (that I remind you I paid) at all!! I know that there are some weird modem stuff settings you can do to avoid the cabbage thing, but there is no way I'm gonna do that. Destiny 2 is the only game that EVER got me this kind of problems, YOU should fix the problem, not me! So yeah, patch this, because this issue is really a joke. Destiny 2 might be the only game I will trash. I played Destiny 1 a lot, on the same system, and not once I had this kind of issue. I played hundreds of game on xbox one and with this moden, and not ONCE I had any sort of issue. The problem is in the network code of the game, is not my fault in any way. They need to fix it.

  • Destiny 2 needs to use the port 3074 for console and 3097 on PC to communicate with other players. Usually, if these ports are closed or used by another program, the game will try to use another one the modem says is available. The problem is your modem does not send the message "this port is used, try another", it sends a "no ports are available" message and the game not being able to handle that, gives you a cabbage error. You have to get in line with your ISP to change your modem or try the telnet fix that some other users mentioned to you. This is not a problem that bungie can solve for you, because the issue is with your modem manufacturer and internet provider, not with them, if the modem sent the right message to the game it would use another port and you would be happy playing. Destiny 1 used port 3480 i believe, that's why you had no issue.

  • What brand router & modem do you have? You do realize that D1 (as well as all other games) have a different network coding than D2, right? So you cannot even remotely compare them to each other.

    • Are you sure you are not having internet problems. It is quite common and has several quick fixes such as a quick router reboot. Also only the base game with Curse of Osiris and Warmind in going free-to-play. You still have to buy Forsaken and Shadowkeep. Are you sure that you are looking into these accusations fully?

      • This is a router/modem problem, not Bungie. If you are not willing to change some settings then nobody can help you.
