Comp made me so ticked off that I soloed The Shattered Throne.

After a win-one lose-one streak back to back over and over with a pal of mine in Mythic II, I literally got so tired up and angry that I soloed The Shattered Throne. I never planned to until that one night. So tips for people! 1. Expect the unexpected. You may have ran with others, but when you run by yourself, you have to watch your own back. Don't expect enemies to play nice either. They can be extremely aggressive (Taken Captains were my biggest fear) or super passive. Sometimes they'll stay near their spawn. Other times they'll chase you to the end of the frucking world just to deal that final blow, and that certainly is rage-inducing when they break their nature. 2. Be patient with damage and learning how to progess solo. I'm usually an aggressive Guardian but there was no room for that in this cruel realm. You have to take your time with every single enemy. If you are unsure of what happens next, TAKE YOUR TIME. Rushing gets you killed, and you'll absolutely hate how far you get sent back. Though die as much as you need to adapt to the encounter/corridors/levels. 3. (88% of the time) LEAVE NOTHING ALIVE! Doesn't matter if it's a shy Taken Thrall or a Hobgoblin that's sight is not on you. If you leave enemies alive, you'll regret it when you're back peddling from a critical hit. The first encounter is the perfect example. Even if random enemies spawn, kill them like they are truly a threat. Because every enemy is when they're armed with BS and a pattern-breaking nature. To those still eager to try, all you need is Patience and Time. But we don't have the gun in D2 so patience and time will do. And a lot of Play of the Games. Just kidding, just do your best!

  • I remember doing it for the first time myself. It was when Niobe Labs was still being solved. I got bored watching the streams, so I decided to solo Shattered Throne on a whim. Solo Flawlessed it first try. Here's my advice too for anyone attempting it: - Play a Warlock. It's the easiest class for it IMO. - If you have Taken Barrier, Taken Armaments, or Taken Repurposing, use those. (I like Repurposing a lot bc it lets you abuse Healing Nades on Dawnblade.) - Use Transcendant Blessing mods too if you have them. - Bring a Bow. They're invaluable for the encounters leading up to Vorgeth and Vorgeth himself. - Take your time and be methodical. - Be prepared for a messy two phase or a three phase, especially if your loadout isn't great. For Vorgeth Specifically: - Clear out all the adds around the first three wizards as soon as you can. - Get the Wizards low but don't kill them. Use a void energy weapon to abuse shield break damage (I used Le Monarque.) - Don't let the Petitioner's Mark timer scare you when you clear out the adds at the opposite side of the room. Titans can use their super here since it isn't essential for damage. - You have 40 seconds before you need to dunk to start damage. Take a second to get your bearings and make any loadout changes you need. (I used Threat Level for the Wizards but swapped to Mountaintop for DPS.) - A full set of Swarm ammo and some Mountaintop in a Luna Well is an easy one phase, even solo. Most other DPS options will be a safe two phase. (I think I used Sleeper on my first run.) - Since Vorgeth's beam can physics you into the wall, you just have to accept that the game will screw you over sometimes. For Dul Incaru Specifically: - Again, take your time. If you don't think you can clear adds, kill all three knights, and kill the boss in one phase, don't try. Use the first phase to get the Knights low and the second to finish them and kill the boss. - Hunters with Celestial Nighthawk with a full stack of the buff and some Transcendant Blessing mods can one shot the boss, so you can use your special and heavy for Knight killing if you're using this strat. - Dul Incaru takes reduced explosive damage for some reason, so don't bother using Grenade Launchers to try and DPS her (they're still great for Knight killing though.) - Whisper is still really good for killing the boss. It only takes 8-9 shots with Whispered Breathing to down her.
