They should down vote this post. This game is not a loot shooter. The devs have been calling it a MMO for months.
Borderlands is a loot shooter.

Oh and I gave the wrong reply to your question, I play Destiny because it's fun. I enjoy Raids, Gambit, Crucible, Gambit Prime, and I can tolerate the easy PvE stuff aswell. I'm playing Iron Banner right now and I'm not chasing any loot.

Just because the devs have now decided to try claim it's an MMO to get more money doesn't mean anything. Bungie are simply doing what Bioware have done in the past. Class your game as loads of things it's not, in order to try get more awards and more money via encouraging people with elements that simply don't exist.

This is the first time they've classed their game as anything. The endgame is very much modeled after WoW. I'm not gonna agrue the point again. Believe what you like.

Edit: destiny was released as a shared world shooter. Bungie and Activision also started that it didn't fit into genres such as fps, rpg or mmo. Funny that

MMO where there are no (until very very recently) events requiring massive amounts of players to work together, and you can see maybe ten other Guardians in any planetary instance that isn't The Tower. RPG with no roleplay Looty shoot with eh loot and pretty good shoot. My Brother told me what the first gun you get in BL3 is. It's a gun with an alt-fire that flips the barrel and fires grenades. That would be an exotic by Destiny standards. Suddenly Destiny feels so much more mundane.

You know how our guardians don't talk for us? That's more role playing than any story based game out there. Do you even know what role playing is? That gun your brother got will be a ledgendary(exotic) in Borderlands if he can get it to drop at that level because he won't be carrying forward. I've already said that Borderlands is the loot/shooter. If you like getting showered with loot and middle school humor you'll love that game. It's ok to play a game in the genre you are looking for.

The only reason they don't any other time is because Bungie obviously decided to not get voice actors back. It's obvious, just go play d1 again. Also plenty of RPGs don't have voice overs for your character. It's not a destiny thing.

I know it's not a Destiny thing it's a role playing thing. I like not having my character talk for me.

Instead you have your ghost talk for you though. I can completely understand that not all people like their character having a voice due to emersion. But they way Bungie got rid of the guardians voice to them briefly give it back is kinda silly.

MMO but the social aspect of the MMO is here??? I can go to any planet and see MAYBE 10 people, if they classify that as MMO they got some issues

Yes it's missing the massive part. But the endgame grind is modeled after MMO games. Social aspects? The is in game chat nobody uses, plus every system has its own chat/message system. Bungie has always considered this app as an extention to the game, there should be a link to this app in the game. Destiny is being called MMO by Bungie not by me.

I am not bashing ya, just kinda scratching my head at their thought process, but tower chat or something similar would be nice, or a tab for lfg in game instead of the app. Meh I am just old school and in my 40s, so that is prob why I wanr a more social aspect to the game

I get that. They consider the app as an extention to the game that's why I said there should be a link. I'm pretty sure they commented on tower chat and said it's not a thing because of trolls. I'll agree that more features would be better but I don't really think they are needed this day and age with all the tech. I'm also in my 40s.

Did you just suggest that the people making the game can't tell us what the game is? Destiny endgame is extremely similar to WoWs endgame grind and it's nothing like Borderlands.
