1. Make all pinnacle weapon quests like Revoker (except a little more grindy). That way the best players can get it in a matter of days, the average player in a matter of weeks, and the poor player by the end of the season. This will essentially kill the recovery business overnight and reduce the incentive to cheat.
2. Give fabled, mythic, and legend ranks cosmetic items (ornaments for pinnacles, glows, emblems, shaders and or silver) to reward their achievement. The best players need to be rewarded and recognized in a way that does not incentivize recovs and cheating (though some idiots will still do so).
Problem solved.
Edit: I got all the pinnacles except NF legit (And I will not cheat or pay for it). This isn’t about me. I am thinking of what is best for the community. It would increase the population playing comp and yet still reward the best for their achievement. More important it will end the recov business. I take no joy in having weapons others don’t. It should be a grind, but it should be attainable for average players.
Edit 2: Revoker is meh? Are we using the same sniper? The ambush scope alone is worth it.
Edit 3: A lot of good counter points. This is a complex issue.

I'm wonna bump this tread. That idea is reality good and I hope Bungie see that post and all people who agree with ts.
-
This is a really good idea. I'm currently working on Hush, which is a similar quest. It's taking me forever, but I'm getting through it, and I'm not able to put in a huge amount of time, and I'm not a God player.

Edited by michael: 9/18/2019 12:38:40 AMAs someone who has been to legend a couple times and has no issue getting comp pinnacle weapons, they need to be easier to get. As in, every quest should definitely be like revoker. If you think they should be locked behind reaching a glory rank, curb your elitism and think about the bigger picture. If every comp quest is like revoker then yes, more people will have the pinnacle weapons. But this means more people playing comp, which means the playlist being more populated, which means matches are higher quality in skill and connection, which means a way better experience overall. Making the pinnacle weapons more accessible like revoker will make comp way more enjoyable for literally everybody. Also yes there should be cosmetic items for reaching higher glory ranks. I am willing to get to legend just to say “I did” but not everyone is like me. There should be some material reward incentive to playing comp that is not just pinnacle weapons.

Did u say u cheated for nf?🐢🐢🐢

I guess that streamer guy they hired from twitch is a clueless nerd. He was suppose to help with pvp but it’s gotten worst, time to send his ass back to the twitch directory
-
Not gonna lie I like both ways. I like reaching fabled but the revolver was a fairly long grind for me since I'm not the best sniper out there, except BOREALIS cause I'm a god with borealis, and comp was somewhat aids with teammates sometimes but it was a good quest

Remove countdown since theirs a game breaking Exploit...
-
Nope, keep it how it is. It’s pvp, actually work for your guns rather then randomly getting them from RNG.
-
Don’t have it. There fixed.
-
Simple way to kill the comp playlist
-
Another way to make crucible fun, git gud and maybe you will enjoy it.
-
I’m sorry but I got a snapshot/Opening shot bite of the fox and put revoker down last night. Revoker is only good if you miss shots
-
Wouldn’t help. Having to tie pinnacle weapons to PvP is a band aid solution in the first place. People don’t want to play it because the mode is poorly designed and not balanced in any aspect. It’s been a shit show for 5 years and I don’t suspect it will ever get any better. Bungie said they were going to dedicate time to PvP this year. Lol! Remember when they said that last year too? How many new maps did it get again all year?
-
If they make the quests easier then they have to make pinicle weapons worse and then what's the point
-
Or we could remove it...
-
I will probably never have Not Forgotten, 5500 points in competitive seems to be harder than getting on the moon IRL. The Revoker quest, grindy and hard is clearly more logical and accessible. I think making quest easier would be fresh blood to competitive.

Skill based matchmaking, crucible fixed. We have been asking for a couple years though so do not hold your breath.

If there is a demand people want it done fast and for them instead of wasting so much time trying to get it in one season. Revoker is still also a very popular recovery weapon. Cheating will also still be used despite that change. 2. This would not work either. Following the release of all titles but especially the Unbroken title recoveries for the title have been booming. Even good legitimate players wouldn’t even care about a cosmetic compared to a gun. There has to be a better incentive.

I'm fine with the cosmetics, but I'd prefer the quests don't become like Revoker. Here's a better idea, if charging players real money for carries and recovs is against the TOS/ EULA/ COC as I would expect then they should ban players who make the posts and players who accept the offers. Pinnacle weapons should stay only obtainable by people good enough to reach Fabled unless the reward is just above average like Revoker, people who have a hard time doing decent in a match even when playing as cheaply as possible (6 stack shotgun apes or fusions with all super mods and Wardcliff or Truth with OP subclasses) don't deserve the pinnacle weapons. A weapon that requires above average skill to get shouldn't be in the hands of people who can barely manage a single kill on there own without spawn trapping/ killing for the entire match and spamming OHK weapons and abilities like they've forgotten primary weapons exist. If the weapon is like Revoker that's fine, have the requirements fit the reward and I'm all for it, but weapons like Luna/ NF, Mountaintop, and Recluse should stay as they are.

hahaha “MAKE IT EASIER FOR ME” Making something easier for you, isn’t “fixing it” If you are not dedicated enough to get the weapon, you don’t deserve it end of story. It’s so easy stop crying
-
Just remove exotics from competitive, no wardcliff/truth no OEM, NO stompees, no crown. It would solve 90 percent of the forums complaints. But then people would be like "but comp is to hard still"
-
I'm all for promoting getting better as a player and super against anything that rewards attrition with stagnation of player growth. And that's all this does. Whereas the former prepares the player for any future PVP content or quests, the latter says, it's fine that you suck. Stick around and others will carry you across the goal line....eventually That's trash, and it's why sooooooo many of the player base is still trash. The rank floors are meant to be an indication of your skill rank. And to push you to get better if you're in the basement. What's the point of having the ranks if they mean nothing and can be circumvented. I want the community to be healthy population wise but I also want it to be better. That won't happen with handouts and watered down steps.

Your last sentence says pinnacles should be attainable for average players....but also say poor players should get them. Ummmmmm🤔🤔🤔

Edited by blade329: 9/18/2019 3:05:22 PMI actually do like the Revoker quest, despite the fact that it's taken me weeks to get this far. I'm only 600 glory points away now. I agree with you, this quest should be the standard for pinnacle weapons. It's easier for the expert, but doable for the average player.

Edited by X Avenger: 9/18/2019 3:25:42 PMOnce you reach legend more than once you and you and the your team gets match up only with other high comp people
