Personally feel like the time they've put into these could have been better used elsewhere.
Like yeah some of them look kinda cool, but how practical are they going to be?
For what they're worth I'd rather not have them and the time have been invested in things like better armour designs and better weapon designs.
Anyone else feel they're going to be a waste?

2 RepliesI mean battle pass....finishers...apex legends anyone?
-
It’ll be satisfying using them for like 2 weeks max imo.
-
It cost super energy so doubt I’ll use it much
-
I would have rather had the ability to see other players connection quality in crucible
-
Yeah I’m not about it. I’m not 10 years old either so....
-
2 RepliesYou do know they have perks right?
-
1 ReplyI can’t stand finishing moves as someone who occasionally plays Apex Legends & Blackout, it’s extremely frustrating to down an enemy player, attempt to reload your weapon and accidentally begin a finishing move on them, only to be gunned down by one of his teammates while you’re helplessly stuck in a finisher animation. It’s just a way for developers to squeeze more microtransactions into their games by selling these finishing moves.

Edited by superskybro: 9/4/2019 11:38:41 AMI was really excited for them untill I found out you can't use them in PvP, I think finishers are gonna bring with it some interesting builds but if I can't execute my fellow Guardian's then what's the point?
-
The only reason they are doing it is so they can sell variants in Eververse. Definitely not the most necessary thing to add, but variants will sell.
-
1 ReplyI personally think it was a waste too but look at the microtransactions potential!
-
Im looking forward to them, I’m bummed that it takes away super energy though. I might just use normal melee most of the time
-
This finishers looks good, but watch Doom glory kills, and Destiny's finishers will look ... quite average.
-
Mortal Kombat....space version 😐
-
It really depends they have some benefits also like giving heavy to the whole team ect. Let's see how it's gonna effect the game before judging it
-
As the most salty player on here, no. Ships, emblems, whites, blues, greens, Mercury, and two gotdamn Gambit modes are a waste of resources. Get rid of that shit bring back srl, ToO, and factions, and fix the look of armor and weapons.
-
Agree. I would rather have Bungie spend time in making Trials again so that Datto's first raid clear is no longer a thing.
-
This is what I’ve been saying. Even the new shit they’re adding is either boring or just a gimmick.
-
I think they are cool. My issue is can you still melee kill a low health enemy without doing finisher. Hopefully there are more than 3 for each class down the road (not counting Eververse).
-
6 RepliesCompletely useless If an enemy is that weak I'd just shoot it one more time
-
Edited by Lucozade85: 9/4/2019 9:23:18 AMI don't really care for cosmetics but I'd rather them spend more time adding more content. Stomp mechanics are going to make these useless anyway. Surprised they haven't added a stomp mechanic on thrall yet. EDIT: When I think about it a lot of time seems to be spent creating stuff I don't really care about. Sparrows, ships, shaders, transmat effects, emotes, weapon ornaments, emblems, ghosts etc. I'd much prefer this time being spent creating new weapons, new armour, more story etc. Next pinnacle weapon - Defeat 100,000 enemies using finishing moves.

4 RepliesFYI, asking for "better designs" is pretty impossible, as aesthetics are pretty much subjective. some people HATED the KF armor, some people loved it. you gotta be more specific with aesthetic feedback. something like "make it cooler" is meaningless, as opposed to something like "make it poofy" or "make it smooth", get it? "better" could be shiny and jagged for one person, or slick and flowing for another, or even beat-up and scrapped together for another, who knows? bungie cant, so be more specific, and understand that it will be YOUR feedback, and NOT everybody elses.
-
Just like 100% of Destiny 2 LOL
-
Edited by barny_bum_fluff: 9/4/2019 8:39:35 AMFinishers are being added so bungo can sell more micro-transactions through Eververse, gameplay comes second fiddle to that.
-
Yup...they are really hyping us up with a lot of gimmicky things...but the real issue is P2P..can we get dedicated servers tho?or am I asking too much?
-
Honestly I think they are similar to the assassinations from Halo: Reach. Not really necessary but at the same time it is something cool to have. I never really cared for assassinations back then seeing as everyone found it as an excuse to mock others in multiplayer so I don't know if I will care too much about "finisher moves" now. As "better" armor and weapon designs that is subjective as always so have that as you will.

I think they'll be fun enough, especially if they come up with some creative emotes for em. Not sure they were ever needed, but I think the potential payoffs for doing em (heavy brick for everyone for example) could be worthwhile.
