Personally feel like the time they've put into these could have been better used elsewhere.
Like yeah some of them look kinda cool, but how practical are they going to be?
For what they're worth I'd rather not have them and the time have been invested in things like better armour designs and better weapon designs.
Anyone else feel they're going to be a waste?

1 ReplyI for one will be highly disappointed if I can't use the Stone Cold Stunner as a finishing move. I'll settle for Sweet Chin Music though
-
Interesting that these weren’t included with D1 considering these were in Reach, without the utility. We all know Reach was a beta for Destiny.

I hate how they add something then decide to shove it down your throat rather than just letting it exist for people to choose to use

Kinda, but it does give them another cosmetic thing to sell, so there's that....

Edited by lCertifiedl: 9/4/2019 4:22:56 PMIt's a cash grab. I also would have preferred the time to be spent on other stuff. But moving forward eververse is just going to get worse and worse and people buy the shit so it won't ever get better. The already make a shit tonne of money so I'm not buying that they need it, the time could have been spent better. It's a business yes but it's becoming greedy at this point. I thought this was a slippery slope when eververse first came out and I was right.

In a screenshot i saw they have perks there fictional not cosmetic from my understanding

Just another personalization feature that can be used to make some additional mtx.

Looking forward it, if there is anyone here who played Halo: Reach you will remember assassinations and by holding down the melee button when facing the back/side of enemy’s did a takedown. So this is a return to that and should prove to be a bit more than just for show, using it will be tied to spending super for ammo return or maybe a boost to super energy, looks to be modded to how you want it to function. Just like emotes yeah there will be cool ones that will cost dust/silver but it’s what they are going to add, I’m sure there will be a good amount and people will find one they like. Coop takedowns? Why yes please, it’s risk/reward weaken the target and go in for the finish and get a benefit be it super or ammo.

1 ReplyBruh I'm shooting them in the head from a distance, I don't have time for the 5 seconds it takes to show me finishing them off when takes less than 2 to drop them.
-
Reallr, how can we know until we actually see and use them? And there are a bunch of mods that make them have practical uses so...we just have to wait and decide tgat after we use them honestly.

39 RepliesNope. 1. This game is not---and never has been--- a pure shooter. 2. Since the game is now (finally) embracing its identity as an RPG, POWER-FANTASY is a legitimate aspect of play. And meleeing a dying Ogre and sending it flying FITS the power-fantasy of our Guardians been demon-lord killing warrior-angels. 3. Define "better"? They are giving as a COMPLETELY redesigned armor system and a NEW system of armor perks that look to completely revolutionize how we play this game. As a result of this system, a whole host of armor from the first year has become relevant again (I'm getting full sets of Escalation Protocol armor)....IN ADDITION to the new armor sets they'll be coming out with for this season.... ...IN ADDITION to every set of Eververse armor you've ever collected now being a Universal Ornament that can be applied to any other armor set. As for weapons....Bungie lost its Weapon design lead (Jon Weisznewsk) last spring....as well as a number of other like-minded Sandbox people (Josh Hamrick, and I suspect Greg Peng as well). They have had to replace those people. So they need time to get those new people in place. Let them decide what new direction they want to take the game in....and the time to implement the changes. Which 3 or 4 months simply isn't enough time. So I'm not really sure what you're complaint is----other than the mere existence of the finishing moves.

Gotta sell that silver.

Edited by TW1STED PH4NT0M: 9/4/2019 4:07:29 PMSo your saying you don't want to see your hunter roundhouse kick an ogre or another guardian in the forehead with a bladed boot? The finishers will be multiple, selectable and upgradable. So no, not just fluff as most of you seem to think.😒

4 RepliesEdited by ulrichzhaym: 9/4/2019 3:37:21 AMI'd rather them spend more times making pvp maps
-
1 Replydestiny2 was the finishing move for the destiny franchise
-
2 RepliesI honestly think its a cheap mindless gimmick that requires very little resources to 'develope' but aspires to yield large returns. Focus on crap like this is why Bungie finds developing a GAME so taxing.
-
It's a cosmetic disguised as an ability.
-
That time could have been better spent........on anything.
-
Like improving the p2p network functionality.
-
More superfluous shite.
-
Just more fluff to monetise, let's be honest.
-
Yeah like Trials. An activity that would literally bring 500k players back into the fold,
-
Yup this and the three pages of useless dance emotes I’ve accumulated. I’d rather have more new weapons and armor.

3 RepliesSeems like a lengthy animation for what would be an otherwise ordinary kill is a little excessive!! Are we immune whilst pulling off this move? Is the enemy immune to allies whilst pulling off this move? Would look pretty silly if you get one shot by the taken vandal on solar burn... would also look pretty silly if the enemy was already dead! If this move enabled an early death, then I see some use... e.g. if a boss is staggered they're there for the taking (bonus damage at least)!!
-
It was probably just another idea for eververse as other animations will be sold by eververse.
