Yeah, D1 was better where the launched something like Shadowkeep and then gave us nothing for 12 months...
do y'all remember the summers of D1? there was nothing between TK and RoI, and then nothing between RoI and D2
development costs money, 1000 people working on a game are all considering it charity

There were a few content updates between the Destiny 1 expansions. SRL, revamped Prison of Elders, adding Chroma armour, and the Age of Triumph towards the end Destiny 1. Also, all of that wasn't worked on by '1000' people, the live team they have consists of less than 50 developers, which puts out everything barring teh Destiny 1 and 2 release, The Taken King, Forsaken and Shadowkeep expansions. Bungie currently has 600 (give or take a few) employees at there disposal now. Finally, I was okay with the model of content release in Destiny 1. Sure, we didn't have new stuff to do every week, but I didn't get bored by the lack of interim content 'droughts' because there was always something to get or play by myself or with my friends (who now have mostly jumped ship).

Clearly you've never heard of festival of the lost, srl, and the April update... And they were FREE.

I liked being able to actually complete everything in the game. Now there is so much stuff and too much grindy stuff to where it's not viable. The grindy stuff and triumphs got out of hand. Mainly because so many things are time based. Like you have to play this specific day or this specific week. If you do t you get screwed and have to wait long periods for another shot. With seasons resetting and taking away things, there grindy timed holiday events, etc.
