Dear furries- you are a valued member of the forums, sorry for all the hate you get here.
Cats is not a bad musical... but that shit being made into a movie is disturbing.... I think you might agree.
Edit: At least most furries do not pretend to be something they are not- they enjoy taking on an alternate persona (fursona). But at the end of the day they do not actually believe they are a Fox, or a Dog, or a wolf... or a [i][b]bear[/b][/i]

So, for as long as I can remember, I've relentlessly mocked you guys for your strange hobby, porn, etc etc etc all stuff I'm sure you've heard before.
So one day, I was descending down the Netflix rabbithole as one is want to do. I watched two brony documentaries that mentioned furries - and I thought, there's gotta be a furry documentary. So I found one on youtube about furry conventions. And at the time, I thought it would be hilarious to go to a furry convention and make fun of furries doing the weird shit I assumed happened at furry conventions.
Lo and behold. I live in San Jose, and it's two weeks before furcon 2015. So my roommate get tickets, thinking it going to be a people zoo, freak show, etc. We are planning to go ironically, to mock people, bask in our own superiority, etc. I'm using etc a lot but I'm just trying to get to the apology faster.
So, the problem in our plan was that we went to the furry convention...and had a great -blam!-ing time
The dance off. Furry fandom by the numbers. Puppetry classes. The talent show. We had an un-ironic good time. We had a blast. We both agreed we'd go to another.
So, my sincerest apologies to all of you. While I still wouldn't identify myself with the furry fandom, I would consider myself "a little bit furry," or at least a furry ally :P So, that said, y'all keep doing you (not that you ever needed my permission) & -blam!- the haters. Sorry for being a huge jerk.

They're about the size of the palm of my hand One is spinning more web wiggling it's lil back end back and forth and the other just shot out of it's hidey hole and drug a moth back into it. They're neat. Spiders are neat! Edit: the spider on the right caught another moth. I'm worried the other isn't getting enough to eat :(

I love furry art, but I don't completely understand the attachment people have to fursonas. I still kinda want one, though. I think he'd be a flying fox or a tanuki. Wonder what a bat would even look like on a fursuit? By the way, people who believe they are animals are not furries, they are therians.

2 RepliesPretty sure the furries in cats are actually digitally projected, instead of actual costumes. Not sure if that qualifies as furrydom. I mean, you could use a computer to project a cat suit onto George Washington's dollar bill portrait, but that wouldn't make George a furry.

I've been fine with furries for a while, just not the weird fetishist ones that change each others diapers in public. As long as you dont do something like that, I'm fine with whatever you do.

Sounded similar. I too went down the rabbit hole. I wanted to find what exactly causes one to be furry and what actually do they do. Bruce’s I had a though in my head. What happens if the perfect person for me is a furry? Huh do I hate them for that? No! So I changed. About 10 months ago I’ve been told that someone in my lunch is a furry. And I wanted to do some research, wanted to know what’s really happening. So I did, got in a conversation, discovered we both like photography and engineering. Time to time I saw some insight. Until there was a con in my local area my new friend wanted to take me, it was PDFC. (Painted Desert Fur Con). It felt uncomfortable at the start. Saw what you saw, dancing. I was like, “ok....” Then my friend was like. “Put on my fur head” I ended up doing it, then I got the thought. It’s a second person basically. It felt weird. I could see them but if they look at my I look like a different person. I could keep going on how people can act different with their Fursona. Then I felt like Conner from Detroit. Going deviant and self testing. But if you play that game. You know most of the time he goes deviant. But I will stay true to my self. Never go to the dark side, the really really NSFW side. But I still take mental notes on how people act differently with their fursona, and down to talk about it.

2 RepliesI honestly tend to find cosplay or dress up a bit odd in general be it dressing up as a hero, anime character, game character, furry, etc. However just like some other people around here I tend to like furries in media. Be that Khajiit in ES, Pokemon, characters from Star Fox, etc.
