50 points away from fabled
After reset today I’m 50 points away from fabled. I’ve been trying to get that since Luna’s Howl first launched. I’ve been running solo the entire time until last night two friends of mine jumped on and helped me out. They got me from 1200 points to where I’m at now (after reset) @ 2050 points.
We picked up another guy who was a random in our team. He was one more match behind me. I had the fabled in the bag if I would have just logged off last night but I felt like I owed it to him to try and get that one extra win so he’d be set. We ended up losing and got off.
That was a tough decision to make considering I’ve been trying for six seasons. To gamble with getting him his versus mine. But in the end I chose to help regardless of the outcome.
Tonight we will try and hopefully get the one win I need to finally get Luna’s, Recluse and if I finish my grenadelauncher kills before October, my mountaintop. I’m pretty excited.
Just thought I’d share.
Edit: I DID IT!!! I ROLLED THE DICE AND WENT SOLO AND GOT IT!
This has been so long in the making and I want to thank everyone that helped me get there. Not just my friends that helped me steamroll up to 2050 from 1200 but all the talented randoms I played with. I’ve seen some people do some amazing things in the arena that I can never hope to achieve. I’ve witnessed true skill by the lot and I feel lucky to have survived enough to complete it. By and large I’m a PvE guy so treading in others territory was daunting.
I’ve been a Destiny gamer since D1 beta and regardless of the trials and tribulations we’ve gone through with the game, for better or worse, it has and always be an experience. Thanks again for the help from fellow guardians and the support in this thread. This old guy is quite elated beyond words!

2 RepliesGJ, I wish you could've used Luna's when it was a 180 rpm, but its still legit for a 150 rpm handcannon. Get to work on on those grenade launcher kills. Most of your progress will come with heavy kills.

It's cool that you hit fable but honestly getting to fable is a joke these days since you earn so many points than what you use to make in competitive seasons ago.

Last time I wrote on this forum I talked about how I recieved mountaintop and a guy was like "That's easy. Comp is easy blah blah. I checked his profile and he did not have any comp pinnacles and had like 700 glory lol. Enjoy the weapon. Instill use it post nerf

1 ReplyGetting fabled is a matter of just getting lucky for the average pvp player. I myself got to 1860ish solo then got help from a streamer for my last 2-3 games. Then I went back down to 1400 while doing the luna's howl hand cannon kills and got back up to 2200 solo while finishing up the luna quest. Having a team helps but truthfully comp is filled with so many carries and recoveries that its getting harder and harder to solo que to anything, so the solo comp list in Shadowkeep will be a big help.
