You know the funny thing about "if you don't raid you do not need this?". It will ensure that Raid groups will have a hard time replacing players that get their crap and stop playing. It will humorous to see how this system blows up in their faces.

  • Right but in terms of a quick way to gear. It will be the fastest.

  • Right, now your problem is it will do exactly what it does in every game that does this. It will cause these players to get angry when they burn through it and then have no reason to do the lower rating reward content. In the current system, everything has some kind of use. It is much like Legion in WoW. Though you are raiding doing the Dailies and Weeklies had their points because it was still rewarding gear that was useful to even Raiders doing mythic raiding. The current system looks like Vanilla WoW. You hit cap through the system and you wander around doing nothing. Plus, wasn't it the argument of the gamers that wanted this is that it would reward the players who sink the most time? This is doing the exact opposite. :)

  • You would think but there’s literally people that clear farm to hit 10-20+ runs the first two weeks the raid drops. Sometimes for clan requirements or no reason at all but they do it. It’ll never affect the hardcore, they’ll just find other hardcore players. It only hurts the average player.

  • No, it will. The design change that the Hardcore wants is going to blow up in their faces because in a game where rewards are meh, they are centralizing all the gear into a few stuff like Raid content. Once they plow through that many players won't have anything to do. So, most likely, what's going to happen is the Hardcore players will hit the cap way faster due to the new design, centralizing gear and capping so the only way to hit the cap is doing that content means faster gearing for clans and organized players, the downside is it trivializes content that the Power Level locked players are doing. So, other than farming mats, this new design will ensure that they will obliterate the content in a much quicker pace. This will lead to hardcore and organized players whining even more because they aren't going to pace themselves, they are just going to mow through the content, and this will lead them to scream bloody murder because, though they advocated for this, Luke Smith is not going to give this game a "Plethora" of high-end content. It will probably have two raids and some Menagerie like content. That stuff will last maybe a month and because unlike the current game where you can do mundane weeklies that reward, these players have effectively advocated for them to have No reason to do anything but content that is on weekly lockout after their first clear.
