Planetary Tokens need to return, or rank ups need a discount.
With the introduction of Armor 2.0, all armor currently dropping in game will work with the 2.0 system, including the old Y1 planetary sets.
The grind is back for the planets, but the amount of a planetary resource required for a faction rank-up has not changed and still is a much lower gain than the old tokens. I think it’s around 75 planetary mats for one rank up, which is an insane price.
We either need for rank ups to cost less planetary mats, or planetary tokens to return. The first option of a discounted price would be preferable due to limited consumable inventory space.

Grinded out the entire Gensym Knight set in 1 week, around 40-50 minutes a day it's pretty easy

1 ReplyI guarantee the cost for planetary vendor packages will INCREASE come Shadowkeep. They’re extending costs, materials and grind wherever they can to try and squeeze every last drop out of any content they add. It’s quite disappointing. Grind grind grind is all they care about.

What about getting rid of planetary ranks altogether is simply rotating their inventories on a weekly basis like D1 vendors? I'm not a fan of the token/rank system. Made planet vendors/NPCs feel like slot machines. I much prefer planetary materials, although I agree ranking up is pricey...

I don't want planetary tokens back. If anything, the cost should be reduced.

1 ReplyBut almost literally everyone complained about the Token system because they wanted loot drops from "doing things" instead of turning stuff into a vendor. It's possible they'll adjust reputation gained from turning in materials or have other paths to loot drops once Shadowkeep launches.

I’ll have about 140 packages between all the planets mwuahaha Edit: just checked, 170 packages from planets. While I did hate the token system of year 1. It wouldn’t be bad to have them back now as the game isn’t grind public events to level up and get exotics and turn in tokens for armor and weapons from vendors. It would just be a side supplement, planetary mats definitely give way too little rank up.

Better choice make the other planetary mats found in the wild drop more than 1-3. 3-5 would be best since I have all these purple trees and not a ton of anything else
