Yet another cross save question

Hey guys, So I think I’ve mostly figured out how cross save is gonna waits, but I’d rather make sure I knew for sure going forward to save the most money and do it right the first time. So I’ve been playing on Xbox for about 5 years on my hunter with just about everything. I have all the expansions on Xbox as well. I also have destiny 2 on the pc, but just the base game and none of the expansions of curse of Osiris to present at opulence. This character I don’t really care for other than the fact that it was more of a trial period to help me get a feel of what it’s like on pc. So my question is going forward to cross save, wha do I need to buy and when should I get it? I know that new light is giving us destiny 2 through warmind for free. I also know that battlenet is going over to steam. Keep in mind that I haven’t bought shadowkeep yet either. Am I supposed to buy forsaken annual pass right now on battle net and have it transfer over to steam, then cross save after that? Also am I supposed to buy shadowkeep now on steam before anything is linked over or wait til I get my Xbox account linked? I know this is a long topic, but I just really want to make sure I get my hunter monster killing machine over to the right place. If anyone could help me out a little bit, it would be much appreciated!

For example: - If you wish to only play the latest Shadowkeep + new Annual Pass content, then you'd get that package - If you wish to also play Forsaken + current Annual Pass content, then you'd also get that package on PC - Currently there are no packages for Forsaken on Steam, so if you wish to get that before Shadowkeep launches, you can purchase that on Battle.net and then migrate that to steam later this month
Also am I supposed to buy shadowkeep now on steam before anything is linked over or wait til I get my Xbox account linked?
- Once linking becomes available later this month, you can do it then, no need to own the game yet - If you wish to get Forsaken now, then you'd link your Battle.net to your Bungie.net profile and it would be ready to be migrated when the time comes See the FAQ for more info: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/CrossSave Let me know if you still have any questions.

If you choose to activate cross-save with D2 you will have the ability to choose from one of your PLATFORM saves so that it can be used on all platforms moving forward. For example: Xbox has characters 1/2/3 PSN has characters 4/5/6 PC/BNet/Steam has characters 7/8/9 And you choose the PSN characters then it becomes Xbox has characters 4/5/6 PSN has characters 4/5/6 PC/BNet/Steam had characters 4/5/6 You won't be able to access characters 1/2/3 and 7/8/9 when Cross-Save is active. In order to access characters 1/2/3 and 7/8/9 cross-save needs to be disabled (assuming it can be toggled off and on). If you have D2 content on one platform that's not purchased on another then that doesn't suddenly mean you gain the licenses for those DLC when Cross-Save is active. You still need to purchase the corresponding content for each connected platform in order to access that expansion’s content. Only the base game, Curse of Osiris DLC and Warmind DLC is free-to-play for all platforms this coming September. You need to Buy Forsaken+Forsaken Annual Pass and Shadowkeep for each platform. Cross Save will preserve all gear, character, and items across all platforms regardless of expansion ownership.
