While I appreciate trying to create more interesting systems for armor, they may have lost me here. I don’t want MORE currencies required to upgrade armor. I don’t even want enhancement cores required even though I have 200 of them (I hardly masterwork anything waiting for the next inevitable tedious power grind). Locking mods/armor to arc, void, solar is strictly to extend grind and nothing more, there’s no other reason for it. All my Escalation Protocol armor that became useless pretty quickly is still useless as I’m expected to grind it all out again. I’m thoroughly bored of that activity and don’t want to spend 5 weeks grinding another set out. Thanks for wasting my time. You’ve added more grind grind grind, but any of the old stuff requires me to go play stuff I’ve already done for 12-24 months and I’m quite frankly thoroughly sick of that content. Just feels like artificial grind extension to me, which after 2 years of this game, I’m just not interested in.

So whats the point of finding any gear what so ever. You can go to a vendor and pick up armor 2.0 and attach your mods to it. They eliminated raids, strikes, nightfalls, for armor. Is this just a lazy approach so their creative design team don't have to create any new looking armor? or is this a money grab and now the store will be filled with ornaments for everyone to purchase to customize the way they look.

  • You wrong in one thing! If you already have EP armor, then you will get a RANDOM part of this set from final chest. Add this stupid arc/void/solar types of armor and there will be 5 monthes to get perfect EP set, not 5 weeks.

  • Exactly, so certainly not worth bothering with.

  • Only thing I agree with you on is having mods locked behind solar, Arc an Void as that totally destroys being able to make builds cause if u wanna play shotgun an grenade launcher your out of luck as shotgun is lock to arc bits or gear an grenade launchers is locked to void an that's just dumb as -blam!-. I'm fine with regrinding old gear as it gives us a lot more options in the ways we can look at that's always a plus I'm just curious what's gonna happen with older gear that was tied to seasons that can no longer be farmed looking at you Trials of the nine an Older Iron Banner gear.

  • Yeah for me I just have no interest in grinding old content I’ve already played to death over the last 2 years. Getting a ‘new’ reward (updated armor i’d already earned previously) isn’t going to make these old activities exciting for me. As for the mods, they should have all been slottable with no class affiliation (void, solar arc). Very disappointed in that.

then lets remove edz, titan, mars, mercury, nessus, and io because its all old content and we should just get 100% new stuff. old stuff is ok as well, i mean, grinding for an armor piece is not a problem. if grinding 70% of the activities doesnt appeal to you, maybe you just don't like 70% of the activities of the game. on my side, i'm eager to grind ep all over again as it now as a purpose, same will all planetary vendors, etc. tell me when do you go do patrols or free roam for other things than flashpoint or quest objective? now you have a purpose to roam edz all week if you want materials and stuff to get that armor set too.

  • I’d happily never play that old stuff again to be honest. You can’t take it away because people paid for it, but I personally have no interest in grinding tired old content just to get stuff I’ve already put the effort in to get. It’s just a cheap way of extending grind. I’m more than happy to go collecting the new mods etc, but just let me pull my old gear from collections at armor 2.0

  • later in the stream they did say you can pull out your legendary armor 2.0 from collection but with a fixed roll. i know they mentioned exotics but later in the stream they talked about it gotta make sure of it though. either way i don't mind grinding old and new stuff. the only problem is when you have to powergrind 90% of old stuff to get leveled up. but they did say they are changing power sources so im curious to see how. i don't see it as cheaply extending grind. they could've simply give you year 2 and year 3 2.0 armor and deal with it, but they are giving you the options of getting the 2.0 versions of the armor sets from year 1. i don't see it as forcing grind, but rather giving more options. i understand the frustration too, but thats how i see it :P

  • Mr positivity haha, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Things like mods having to match armor elements etc I personally see purely as extending grind for grind’s sake. I suppose that’s where it falls down for me. If I could just get a piece of armor and slot in all my mods, it wouldn’t be so bad, but now if I want EP armor, I have to try and collect at least three versions of it (arc, solar, void) to match my different mod setups. What if I grind it out and get the solar version of the helmet multiple weeks in a row? Just seems like a big waste of time doing EP for a helmet that’s no good to me. Unless they can update old activities like that to be a bit more friendly to the extended grind, it just won’t be worth the effort for me.

  • thats some good points too. although i prefer a long a f grind than a grind in which im done with in 3 weeks and dont need anything in the game lol

  • Oh yeah, I don’t want a grind that’s too short (but not as long as Solstice, that was overkill for me). It’s only because I’ve played all that old content so much that I’m bored of it and don’t really want to play it anymore to grind updated armour I’d already earned. We’ll see though, maybe when I really can’t be bothered focussing on anything and just feel like wasting time, then I’ll do some old stuff.
