♡ Okay, after reading though it a few points: 1. Gambit Prime is actually pretty solid. Reckoning however...needs work. Regular Gambit should be welcoming, meaning removing level advantages and penalties. Gambit is tied to a lot of things such as exotic quests, and even season events. Having a restriction because of let's say, guitar errors, shouldn't be a thing. This one thing is like a tiny cog that makes everything else work, just because you're restricted from one activity doesn't mean we should be restricted from multiple things as a result. Gambit should be like Quickplay Crucible, and Gambit Prime should be like Competitive Crucible. Gambit Prime can be left as is, but Reckoning needs a retune. It needs to embody what it was designed around which is Super usage, nerfing the Super restoring exotics and leaving Reckoning as it was is unacceptable. I didn't play Reckoning then, and even after when I waited for the power level increase, I don't play Reckoning now due to the Exotic nerfs. I totally understand why they were nerfed, but Reckoning didn't need to get buffed as a result. Daybreak, the super ability restoring modifier can fix this game mode in an instant, and also make it really fun. Again, the problem with Reckoning was that it wasn't fun, and the rewards were to infrequent. Which is a recipe for disaster. To be honest though, I'd rather have a fun activity to play rather than an increase to the drop rate of rewards. 2. "We want players to have cover where their shields and health can recharge, or where they get to be smart using geometry, movement, ability and gunplay to dig enemies out of cover, and make interesting decisions about target prioritization." --- That's nice and all but the thing about cover is that it doesn't always work since some enemies have AoE attacks that can indirectly damage you even in cover. 3. Zero Hour was one of my favorite activities. I'm not one to use Sniper rifles, but Zero Hour had me looking for an Agressive Frame sniper (Dreaded Venture) to deal with all the Sniper Shanks and Vandals. It was the same for soloing Shattered Throne. 4. It's nice to have challenging activites, but some things just need to be more accessible from a players PoV. Menagerie is a good example of what the standard should be. A normal casual mode you can just jump into with matchmaking, then a much more difficult Heroic version without, with it's own reward pool of items to earn. Some things should remain a static difficulty such as Zero Hour/ Whisper, but Raids shouldn't be exclusive to Fireteams. At least the playable accessibility, and not the rewards. Rewards should be reserved for the Normal mode and better rewards for the Prestige version. Raids need to have 3 difficulties, a Story mode which rewards experience. You can just hop on in and play it without the worry of any failstates or revive tokens, so players on their own means, can learn the mechanics and the layout of the map firsthand and prepare for the normal version for loot. You could even message your group and take them into the Normal version and beyond. The Normal version should have rewards as they do now, and Prestige should have "special" versions of the same loot. They could even be something enemy specific like while wearing the armor piece you do more damage vs specific enemy, but it's built into the armor and isnt a mod. Something like that. 5. Whisper of the Worm, needs to come back as it was. It just doesn't feel exotic anymore, and even DARCI can out perform it. A suggestion would be for DARCI to be moved to the Special slot, and be a really good special exotic sniper and for Whisper to regain 1 ammo into reserves as a diminished return while White Nail replenishes the magazine from reserves. This would solve the Infinite ammo issue as well as give Whisper its exotic perk back. 6. The pursuits tab was a welcome change, people just weren't used to the sudden change from the inventory to the directory. but now that it has been moved, the character inspection screen moves a lot faster, on console and at least in my experience. Bounties separated from quests is a good change, one step at a time. 👍 7. Eververse, direct purchases need to be more "direct", is there a reason why Eververse items are on a rotation? The problem with direct purchases is that if you don't have the Bright Dust available in the moment of the week something you want is being sold, what happens when you miss the deadline and that purchase goes away, and what if it doesnt come back? People shouldn't be forced to buy something for Silver because they didnt have the Bright Dust the one week it was available. To cut down on this, why doesnt one picture have a Bright Dust or Silver option? Like for example the Solstice Glows have 6 large pictures that take up half the screen of a page. Why doesn't it just have 1 picture each with Silver cost and Bright Dust cost, then when you inspect to buy, it'll give you the option to choose either Bright Dust or Silver to pay for it? Also, why are some Eververse items inconsistent with the Silver to Bright Dust amount? Like why do some things cost the same amount of Silver, but have varying Bright Dust costs? 8. Yes, Menagerie was great! but add a Story mode for Raids, one week after it's release. So everyone can enjoy the activity at their own pace. So much work goes into designing Raids! It's such a shame it goes unplayed by so many. Rewards are one thing, but Story based content shouldn't be exclusive to having 6 people readily available who are able to play for a long period of time, or who are comfortable communicating vocally. 9. One thing Season of the Drifter did right was the Invitation of the Nine Bounties, telling the story in consecutive order upon each weeks completion. Forsaken didn't have this with the Queen Mara story Arc and Uldren's revival. All of that is just gone, even for newer players so all they see when they enter Queen's Court is an empty seat. Another example would be putting the Black Armory story line behind an Exotic Quest that requires a random chance bounty and a 3 week cycle. I wasn't finished with the Black Armory story arc until midway through Season of the Drifter, and by that time I had forgotten about Ada's story. --- All in all, this was some great insight into the past year. Looking ahead, I'm looking forward to presenting more feedback in the future. ♡

      • I stopped reading at this point: But, the Annual Pass was harder on the team than we anticipated. The scope of what we delivered, the pace that we delivered it, and the overall throughput for Annual Pass takes a toll on the Bungie team. I--and many others--had conversations throughout the year with team members--who had jumped from release to release-- about the grind of working on Destiny. Working on the game was starting to wear people down. You're seriously trying to make us feel sorry for the Bungie team for having to GRIND, feeling worn out, and working on the game is harder than you thought??? You literaly just complained about what you are doing to the people paying you to play your game. Remember, this game is not for "Johnny 2 sticks", that goes both ways. This is priceless...

This was nothing but a brain dump from someone with a massive ego and a stunning lack of leadership skills. And this was clearly the edited version .. dear god. And I say that as someone who led a team in the military and had to plan assess and deal with situation where lives were on the line. His team had to tell him that the Reddit comments about the Pursuits tab were bad. Think about that. His team had to inform him of the reaction to a game he was directing. What a Leader. As for the rest its clear that their focus is Eververse. Making games is apparently hard and they are going to deal with that in the next Annual Pass by "standardising" which anyone who has ever worked in any organisation that loves that word knows that it means "make more cheaply" but its hidden away behind saying that the doesn't want his team to burn out. As for the crap that the Zero Hour mission was funded through Eververse .. how does that it work ??, do they wait until they have a certain amount of cash and THEN make something ?? .. that flies in the face of the "everything overlaps" comments. I call BS on that one. And its clear that Luke pays FAR more attention to "streams" and Youtubers than anyone else. Probably because they will happily flatter his ego to get close to Bungie. I have been playing less and less, and I can see that continuing to the point that I just lose all interest, strangled by the boring grind and anything nice being hidden behind Eververse which is now on the Director soon apparently. Never mind about removing the need to go to Ada all the time for Forge frames, no lets force all the tat into our players faces. That's the really important bit isnt it, getting Eververse out there in everyones face. Soon there will be an outlet at every Planet Vendor too. Just wait.

I don't even need to read what you said. Just scrolling through this post and reading the replies says enough. Boy is this company so damn lost its actually pathetic... Edit: When the words Datto and communication comes up about the community. Yeah, let's keep misleading the community a hell of a lot more... Edit: 1. Dmg, by posting this and seeing Bungie's actions that have shown otherwise a lot of the time this last 2 years. All that you did was cases this post to be flooded because most know Bungie usually don't back up their own words and that alone is the case for a post like this to have a hell of a lot of negative feedback. If they want legit feedback that is positive feedback? Then tell them to stop lying to their player base and back up their own words. It's simple logic that we all are grown up with, it's just some know how to use it better than others. I mean even my 11-year-old has this down to the tee. Yet, these are adults that run the company, hmm. Edit: 2. Just one more thing, It's not the devs that are busting their a** to create this game. I don't blame them at all because it's hard work, especially how this company is being handled constantly changing things left and right with no foundation at all to get this game moving forward. It's the higher-ups and Luke Smith along with the investment team that is the actual problem. 12 years people this project has been worked on and where have they actually gone with all the deliberate poor actions? Stop using Tess the only vendor that in 2 freaking years that has been well taken care of and not being used as her intended purpose. https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/13672/7_Introducing-Eververse-Trading-Company
Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. • I think I finally see the flaw (at least from my perspective), in game difficulty. I have been puzzling over the right way to convey this since Solstice started. I want to feel powerful. I want to be able to take advantage of my intelligence. I don't mind if some things are a little hard, but I never want to be kicked back to orbit 3 or more times for attempting to solo content Bungie intended me to play with 'buddies' (I will play solo or matchmade, nothing else ever). Today I was listening to a youtuber read the full directors cut from Luke and I see the bit of logic in game design that I 100% disagree with. In talking about adjusting for people being like 'Gods' with the Phoenix Protocol Armor and nearly un ending Wells of Radiance and some special team Luke has to find (and kill) those too favorable game mechanics, or adjust the difficulty to combat them, I finally understood why I was so unhappy with the state of the game. DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST GAME DIFFICULTY FOR THOSE PEOPLE who use the whatever the 'Phoenix Protocol' of the moment is. Just let them win that way if that is what they want. By calibrating to THOSE players, you force ALL OF US TO USE THE VERY GEAR YOUR UNHAPPY WITH. Or suffer an imbalanced game that is NO FUN! I would way rather a few people used cheesy methods to win things, then for you to lock the game down so tight that I have NO FUN PLAYING. Personally, I decided that the Phoenix Protocol armor was not for me. I scrapped it. Why? Because I do not like the playing the way that gear would have me play (it's sad too, because its one of the very very few pieces of warlock armor I actually mostly like the look of).I am not a 'meta' player. I might look to see what the meta is to inform a better understanding of all the hidden game mechanics, but the only reason you might find me using 'meta' gear would be if I coincidentally found that I loved a piece of what people decided was meta. By calibrating the game difficulty to the 'best' possible gear (or most OP gear), you do a great disservice to players that just want to figure the game out for themselves. The game is automatically going to be too hard (for people not using the OP gear/setup config)!! I want to use the gear I like, gear that makes me feel powerful yes, but also gear that interferes with my freedom of intuitive movement and combat as little as possible. Traction on Boots is a perfect example. Traction should never have been made necessary. It should be an innate quality of ALL BOOTS. Do not take intuitive control away from us just to give it back to us later as a 'perk'. My favorite things in Destiny DO NOT come from 'difficult' to complete content. There MIGHT be some difficulty in the things I liked best about Destiny, but it sure as hell was not the difficulty I liked about those things. By thinking of the game in terms of difficulty and 'preventing' players from doing things 'to easily' you transform the ENTIRE game into a FRUSTRATION ENGINE. Just let go. Build for the main capability of players and just let the outliers run off and be cheese gods if they want. It does not matter to the rest of us. And the players that whine (or is it brag) about the game being 'too easy'? Let those people challenge themselves by adding difficulty modifiers. If that doesn't satisfy them? Then maybe the 'difficulty' those players want doesn't really serve the best interests of the game and it's players.

WHY do you need MTX in a game that is considered a Triple A FULL PRICE release? Surely you have people at Bungie who are financially competent enough to do a basic cost analysis/breakdown of resources required for both the pre and post production of the product. I don’t know what’s worse, the fact you are blatantly pushing this fallacy by insistence of trying to convince everyone (read palm off) that the inclusion of MTX via Eververse IN A FULL PRICE TRIPLE A TITLE is not only required but that your customers should just accept this as a viable business model, or the fact that you think we should find it acceptable that the Whisper Ornament paid for the development of Zero Hour? Where did the money you earned from the sales of the game, plus all the DLC go? Dedicated Servers? Oh wait, it’s hybrid P2P which basically puts the majority of the overheads on the players internet.
This kind of smoke and mirrors BS reminds me of that Nigerian Prince that keeps calling with a promise of riches IF we just hand over our credit card/bank account details beforehand 🤔
IF you have to rely on MTX to create content for a Triple A FULL PRICE RELEASE which has PAID DLC then your business model is fundamentally flawed! Basic business sense dictates that those running the company have a high level of Financial Acumen. If you lack this you will continually make decisions that will lead to bad choices, wasted resources, missed opportunities and ultimately a disastrous outcome for your company and its employees/customers. This sounds all too familiar when reading about Bungie tbh. However, the whole forced justification of the “MTX pays for content” section when taken into context with the “developing content is hard” modus operandi actually says more about the behind the scenes at Bungie. Would you go to a restaurant that asked you to pay in advance for your meal, not knowing what was on the menu other than “food” and when you get there they ask you to stump up extra money for the electricity or the chef won’t be able to reheat the meals that was in the fridge from a few days ago. Oh and if you want a nice plate and the best cutlery you need to pay extra to the maitre d otherwise it’s paper plates and a plastic spork!? It stinks of a cash grab, and the whole facetious and disingenuous dangling of the “Zero Hour was paid for by said MTX ergo it’s fine carrot” is a joke, sadly being played on all of us who have financially supported this game. Let me clarify something: There is NO justification for MTX in a PREMIUM PAID PRODUCT with PAID for dlc, end of. Been with Destiny from the start and this is the first time I have NOT blindly pre ordered content. Sorry Luke, I’ve thrown enough money at the screen.

                          • I do appreciate Luck Smith trying this new way of communication. We the players don't really understand what goes on behind the scenes of what it takes. After all, all we do is sit on our behind and play the game. You expect us couch potato's to know a lot about what takes to make a game? I like how we finally got to see what happens and what goes on. I like the changes the are upcoming. The armor and the change to the Eververse store about getting a discounted price to get the rest of the gear is nice. I do however, think that some stuff on there is a bit expensive at times. Sometimes it's hard to obtain money as we all have different life styles. Maybe considering lowering somethings? Just a bit more at least? On that as well I do wish we could directly purchase things from across all seasons. It kind of blows that we have to go season by season. I wouldn't mind if we could directly purchase things from a rotating system either. Like maybe one week we can directly purchase things from Season of the Drifter then, next week some from the Forsaken era -Sorry forgot the seasonal name for that one- One last thing I would like to say is that I appreciate what the Bungie team does. Sometimes we can't put our best foot forward. Sometimes we do and it ends no where. But at least the team did what they could and with what they had. I'm no artiest either lol. I have no reason to say nor think I know what certain things should look like. Or how stories should roll out. I appreciate the hard work that goes into this game and to the development team, programmers, and story writers, I'm sorry for everyone's sharp tongue. If you ask me they're just bitter cause they have had a bad or lost something. You do what you can do and that's all I ask. It hurts when you try your best at something and get no where. Still learn from mistakes though, as it is good to understand the right things and the wrong things.

Many things I have loved about Destiny and some few things not so much We live and learn . Your team works hard and i graciously appreciate the beautiful game and world you have created. Personally you have given me wonderful memories. I played this game during some of my happiest times in my life and it has gotten me through some of my hardest times . • With regard to proposed nerfs to supers like well of radiance and some exotics, with respect Mr. Smith I don't think it's the gear or the supers that are the issue. It's the encounters they're used in. In my opinion it's encounters in general that need to be worked on, specifically their variety. Number one, I would guess you've heard. GET RID OF STOMP. Or reduce signifcantly, or telegraph it, or make it avoidable, but you're eliminating all close range weapons that could otherwise be viable. The other mechanic that has to go, as you alluded to, is the trigger damage phase and stand in one place for x amount of time and unload. That's why supers like well of radiance seem so powerful because that's how most of the major encounters work. To whomever designed them's credit, I can think of a couple encounters that break this trend....sort of. First, in the Hollowed Lair strike you have the fallen walker encounter where once enough damage is done and its weak point exposes it pops a shield you have to get inside of to do damage. Things like that are more conducive to close range weapons. The other 'sort of' is the taken Knight boss in Gambit Prime. he shoots flames that cover an area. The problem with the encounter is you created a mechanic that requires us to stand in one place to get a damage buff, that coupled with the taken knight that is always flame throwing that spot, practically begs the use of well of radiance. Agan, the super isn't the problem. The boss attack isn't the problem. That's good it forces us to move. the problem is making us stand in one specific spot which in turn lends itself to things like well and barricades. I'm not saying get rid of such mechanics all together. There just needs to be more variety where supers like WoR aren't the go to.

                            • I watched the stream. Loved everything about the game that was presented. But, DROP the elemental stuff for mods. I don't need 8 different sets of armor with solstice void, blah blah blah. I don't need to load into a match and decide that I want to use a hand cannon and spend more materials to switch my mods around. I think it will end up being a hassle and a redundant RNG step into this game. Way to annoying in that aspect. Also, I think that once we earn a mod, we buy it once to use, then if we feel like switching it off then putting it back on we don't have to spend more glimmer and such on it. Unless the max glimmer was increased to 500,000 no thank you.

                              • What I took from all of that was this: 1. After everything...Luke Smith, professional ??something?!... Halo2 critic??.... is still in charge for some inexplicable reason. 2. They have decided that instead of making actual content- -New story -New strikes -New adventures -New PvP Maps -Giving us back PvP modes -SRL Etc. They are going to stay with increasing spreadsheet grindier ways to get us to "play" the "game" and reselling us reskinned content. Why? Because "making content is hard" and taking a toll on the.... company that is literally in the business of making content. Maybe they are trying to change their biz model after the Chinese money infusion? 3. Finally, the spreadsheet stats ALONE are what we are going to earn from this grind, and any cosmetic good looks... you guessed it... will now be via the Cash Shop. We will get continued meh looking 'earnable' stuff in game. Unless it becomes clear that Shadowkeep has some true new content, or PvP rework is reaaalllyy good.... this will be the first update I dont buy.

                                • I still love you guys and gals over at Bungie, and always will, the studio will ALWAYS have a special place reserved in my heart because of Marathon and Halo, but all of this Eververse stuff is SERIOUSLY putting a sour taste in my mouth. I'm sick of arbitrary seasonal time limits and paywalling. I'm sick of your insistence on putting so much time and effort into expanding Eververse stock. I'm ESPECIALLY sick of how it keeps getting more and more difficult to just EARN the Eververse items through dedicated playing. To be brutally honest with you, at this point, the main reason I continue to log in and play the game after I've already completed everything I wanted to complete in a given season, is to continue to earn Eververse items. This season's Eververse sucked ass, and I still don't have the complete Intrepid set for any of my characters. Not even one. I'm also missing a ton of other things from this season (Ships, Sparrows, Ghost Shells, Ornaments, Transmat Effects, and more). Compare that to every previous season I played, where I earned everything for each character I played. I wouldn't even be playing at this point if it wasn't for the fact that I want to earn as much Bright Dust as possible before it becomes even harder to attain. It just feels like a cheap and lazy cash grab. Something that belongs in a free-to-play or mobile game, not a premium priced product. If the next season is worse than this season, which I suspect it will be, then I will be taking my money elsewhere. I will no longer financially support the franchise. Consider this a fair warning. You won't see even a single penny from me until you remake the Marathon Trilogy or something.

                                      • Wow. Can't even get myself to read it in its entirety. Much smarter people than I will tear this apart as it should be. You truly asked for it Larry. You must understand what the words integrity, accountability, and respect mean before you start attempting to make the case that we should feel sorry for you and Bungie. That somehow you really care when your actions say otherwise. And mentioning Halo only highlights the fall from grace this company has conducted itself into.
