Games are too big a part of the mainstay economy these days for any serious action to be taken. Also, I trust Biden/Obama to make intelligent decisions about it and not jump the gun on violent media like the Christian Right.

Do you really trust the same guys who are actively trying to limit our rights overall? I don't.

My views on politics are skewed Left, I'll fully admit that. I also realize 98% of politicians are not interested in what's best for the Nation. However, I've supported Obama thusfar because if nothing else, I respect him as an intelligent and thoughtful man. And because he's my president. Take all this with a grain of salt, because I'm not speaking in absolutes here. I'm as political wishy-washy as any other average American. But I believe in respect for the Office of the President, as well as respect for a man even if I don't agree with everything he's done.

I can't respect a man who doesn't respect my family. We fall victim to that tax on the "rich". So my hard working dad pays 30% tax vs. 15% like everyone else. Meanwhile he strips our rights and expands the handouts. Makes me sick. I plan to eventually leave this country for reasons like this.

! See, I'm on the other side of the spectrum. I'm just above poverty level trying to make ends meet. What's ridiculous is down here, it almost pays more to be unemployed that employed. (Welfare is a little weird like that) I fully understand your frustration. Being charged more seems pretty unfair and if I put myself in your shoes I"m sure I could feel the disrespect. But I put this to you: Reaganomics states that those with more will reinvest in the economy, causing a 'trickle down' effect and raising the wealth of the whole. As someone with a bit more wealth in their pockets, how do you view this? Do you feel socially responsible to have a larger effect on America because you have more wealth? What's the mentality? I'm just curious because my circumstances have defined my opinion. I'd like to know how yours have defined you.

I understand that. If they cut out unemployment I think it would fix a lot of the issues. It would allow for the government to take less taxes overall, leading to you earning more wage. That's how I see it. As a whole since my father came from nothing I feel that anyone can. He remains very generous with his money, which is something I strive to do and do as much as possible. I have in the past gotten crap from people about being rich and such like that, it's a pain from my perceptive, which is why I make sure to keep both humble and all of that. My parents also purchased a now successful restaurant with a group of people last year. It has of course created numerous jobs for people, so on that note you can directly see the trickle. I hope I semi answered what you wanted to hear.

Was just curious. Knowing people's circumstances allows me some perspective on their opinions. Perspective allows me to respect. :) And given how much we agree on I'd rather be friends more than enemies. People often entrench themselves too deeply on rather circumstantial issues. I've some perspective already. I currently help support my mom (Recent Divorcee from my medically unstable father) and kid brother through the tough times of lacking a parent. My best friend is middle/upper class and has been very generous in helping me build a machine to keep doing my Digital Artwork. Unlike some other people here down near the poverty line, I don't dislike people for being rich. I dislike people for being isolationist and stingy with themselves and their friends.
